Cheney’s Suite Demands

From The Smoking Gun

Dick Cheney’s “rider,” his list of hospitality demands, is actually quite modest, paling in comparison to prima donnas like Jennifer Lopez.

When the vice president spends the night at a hotel, he requires all TVs pre-tuned to Fox News (natch), room temperature set at 68 and caffeine-free Diet Sprite, among other things.

The Smoking Gun:

MARCH 23--After posting the performance contracts of artists like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, and U2, The Smoking Gun has finally obtained the backstage demands of a real rock star. That’s right, below you’ll find a copy of Vice President Dick Cheney’s standard “tour” rider. The document is provided to hotels where Cheney will be bunking and lists how the Republican pol’s “Downtime Suite” needs to be outfitted. While the vice president’s requests are pretty modest (no extract-the-brown-M&M demands here), Cheney does like his suite at a comfy 68 degrees. And, of course, all the televisions need to be preset to the Fox News Channel (what, you thought he was a Lifetime devotee?).

This is the second most important man in the free world.  So what. I think this is rather modest and reasonable. Heck, this is barely more than a Good Embassy Suite.  Let the man be for a change!

Um, Sprite is caffeine free.  There’s no such product as Diet Caffeine Free Sprite.

I enjoyed this piece of trivia. However, Fox and nothing but Fax is a telling thing, it does not suit a VP of the USA.

Cheney needs to stop acting like he has the power to get whatever he wants.
