Texas Arresting People in Bars for Being Drunk

Undercover agents will bust you in a bar for public intoxication—so you don’t get behind the wheel of a car, or something like that.

AP:

Texas has begun sending undercover agents into bars to arrest drinkers for being drunk, a spokeswoman for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said on Wednesday.

The first sting operation was conducted recently in a Dallas suburb where agents infiltrated 36 bars and arrested 30 people for public intoxication, said the commission’s Carolyn Beck.

Being in a bar does not exempt one from the state laws against public drunkenness, Beck said.

I don’t know what’s scarier, the fact that someone even conceived of this little project, or the fact that they actually found cops who were willing to carry it out. Trust me, these cops are the same ones who will be locking up political dissidents and poaching our brains inside our heads with “non-lethal” weapons one day soon. This story is very worthy of http://www.prisonplanet.com

“Preemptive Detention”  What a great concept!  That’s right up there with “Manifestation of Intent,” which allows the police to read your mind and decide if it looks like you’re “up to something.”

They even arrested people drinking in the hotel bar of where they were staying. THE HOTEL BAR.

Sniff. I’m so proud of my state. It’s growing up into such a wonderful fascist theocracy.

I believe it’s called ‘preemptive detention’.  That is, arresting someone for committing a crime before they do.  Just like ‘preemptive war’.  The federal government is very interested in this program.  With this vital tool, if your father committed a crime, then you have a better chance than others to commit a crime.  Ergo, you will be arrested so that you cannot commit that crime.  With DNA they will now be able to detect the genetic disposition of people to commit crimes and ‘head them off at the pass’.  Perhaps arresting them in the womb.  I mean if you’re a person when you’re concieved, then you should be governed by the law, right?  I believe the Texas legislature is also considering a law that would arrest the sperm or eggs of a convicted criminal just to ensure the safety of the public.  Don’t Mess With Texas!!!
