From crooksandliars.com

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann said that radio talk show host Laura Ingraham dishonored the memory of all the reporters who died covering the Iraq war.

The MSNBC host calls radio talk show host Laura Ingraham “desperate” and “stupid” for criticizing the bravery of reporters in Iraq.

Crooks and Liars:

The segment started out focusing on Bush and his “attacking the messenger” strategy, but it shifted to Laura Ingraham after she went on “The Today Show” and O’Reilly, blasting the media.

Keith said: “A note about Laura Ingram’s comments. I’ve known her a long time.  I’ll in fact give you the caveat that I’ve know her socially. But that hotel balcony crack was unforgivable. In was unforgivable to the memory of David Blum, it was unforgivable in considerable of Bob Woodruff and Doug Vought, unforgivable in light of what happened to Michael Kelly and what happened to Michael Weiskopft. It was unforgivable with Jill Carroll still a hostage in Iraq.  And it was not only unforgivable of her; it was desperate and it was stupid.”

Laura seems to have forgotten that some eighty journalists have been killed in Iraq.

Laura Ingraham is without a doubt one of the worlds biggest idiots. What a flake. I listen to her show to feel better about myself. I hear empty, totally slanted rhetoric from her that could only appeal to someone who can’t think for themself, and am reminded that how lucky I am not to be that dumb.  The lead singer of eurythmics is more attractive than that man dyke.  Anywho, hopefully someone rids the earth of her DNA strand as not to contaminate it any further with her stupidity.

Keith Olbermann is simply the best…A man who has the guts to take on this fascist administration and its supporters! I wonder why Greg has nothing to say about Bill(phone sex freak)O’Reilly? How about Fox “News” and its deliberate slanting of coverage? Hey Greg how about the parnoid ravings of Sean Hannity and Pat Robertson? And furthermore Keith Olbermann signs off every program not with “good night and good luck” but with a reminder of how many days it has been that Bushit claimed “mission accomplished” on the Aircraft carrier back in 2003! Greg and his ilk can’t face the facts that this criminal administration has led the USA into the worst foreign policy diaster since Vietnam…

Hmmmm, it seems my “pious twit” comment struck a chord here. Particularly with Mark! Whoa there buddy—don’t come unhinged now!

First of all, I’m not a right-winger I’m an independent. I watch a multitude of news channels and programming and my assessment of Olbermann is valid. He’s not a journalist, he’s a conspiracy-minded loon who does nothing but pander to far-lefties who drool over his idiotic rants. His “truth” is on the same level as Michael Moore, namely, fictitious.  I’ve watched plenty of Olbermann and he mostly floats theories, makes huge leaps in logic and pretends to be the second coming of Edward R. Murrow. Heck, he even signs off his show by saying “Good night, and good luck.” Yep, pious twit for sure.

Laura claiming msm bias is based partly on her having been to Iraq recently, and having seen things differently.  She claims Iraq is in much better state than is reported.  However, if you read her photos of that trip published on her website, a different truth emerges.
The majority of the pictures, including some with smiling kids, were taken within the safety of military camps.  You can clearly see the blast barriers and guard towers in the background.  In others, the lack of body armor indicates the same.
Only a fraction of the photos are taken outside.  The amount of body armor and military security in the background indicates that the situation there is very unsafe.  In some pictures, Iraqi personnel have their faces blacked out.
Think about that.  The country is so unsafe that Laura couldn’t go anywhere without military escort, and even with escort, had to be clad in body armor.  She basically saw what the Army let her see whenever they left the perimeter of the bases.  Her view of the situation is no more fair and balanced than that of the msm.

Greg is the pious twit not Keith Olbermann. Keith Olbermann has never had to pay out millions of dollars to settle sexual harassment charges while posing as a traditional moralist UNLIKE BILL O’REILLY, Olbermann as far as we know isn’t a drug addict on his THIRD DIVORCE WHO NEVERTHELESS pretends to be the spokesman for traditional morality UNLIKE RUSH LIMBAUGH, Olbermann has never advocated the extermination of African American males to lower the crime rate nor (as far as we know) is he a gambling addict who, even while publically condeming the vice , blew millions of dollars at slot machines and crap tables UNLIKE BILL BENNETT. Olbermann (along with Lou Dobbs) has the best program on cable news period! And brainwashed Fox “News” addicts like Greg can’t deal with truth when they hear it…Keith Olbermann has never advocated terrorist strikes on San Franciso or LIED REPEATEDLY UNLIKE O’REILLY ..Olbermann has never threatened listeners with police action for daring to utter another’s name on his radio show UNLIKE O’Reilly!!!! I could go on and on but you get the drift..YOU GREG ALONG WITH ALL YOUR RIGHTWING BUDDIES WHO HELPED THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION LIE THIS NATION INTO THE WORST FOREIGN POLICY DISASTER SINCE VIETNAM ARE THE TWITS….You and your rightwing buddies who helped the Bush administration bankrupt this country over the past six years are the twits…AND you and your buddies who helped this criminal President and his gang rip up the Bill of Rights are the real twits…...

Since there is so much good news going unreported in Iraq, I propose that Laura Ingraham, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and other conservative journalists get stationed there and provide those reports. Mind you, not stationed in the Green Zone or one of the barricaded downtown hotels but out in the field where all the good news is occuring.

I can’t wait to hear Limbuagh’s daily dish from Samarra, Ingraham’s nightly nugget from Sadr City and Malkin’s morning morsel from Fallujah. I’ll be on the edge of my seat anticipating O’Reilly and his good news report from Mahmudiya.

In fact, I will even make a small contribution toward their one-way airfare to Baghdad.

Wow Mutterhals, you actually read accounts of soldiers who claims all is not well.  If all was well it would probably be vacation in Bagdad but its a WAR.  Where did you read these accounts, the Washington Post or did you really watch them on CBS?  DO you know any soldiers Mutterhals, soldiers that have been in Iraq and have to listen to people on TV telling them what they did over there was a waste.  The soldiers I know don’t think its a waste.
Besdies all of that, the topic is about media bias, and does that bias influence American opinion and policy? The answer to every honest and reasonably preceptive mind is that it does, and the mainstream press is negative.
SO the left run to an extreme argument and say moronic crap like,“IS is our fault the war blah blah blah…” Of course they don’t have a direct affect on happenings on the front line.  But this negative coverage is dishonest and unbalanced, it hurts our soldiers (ask a real one if you don’t believe me), and encourages our enemies.  Wise up Mutterhals, and turn off the Newspeak while you still can.

To Mutterhals, have you noticed that there have been no terrorist attacks on American soil since 9-11?  Don’t be so small minded, think of a larger strategy other than the appeasement we tried in Iraq for 10 years.  Travis is right about this one and if Bush’s plan is successful it will be one tremendous accomplishment. To help with establishing free governments who are interested in peace and trade for their own financial benefit could transform large parts of this dangerous region of the planet.  The Dems need to support the President with ideas to improve the current course of action if they feel it is wrong, but most of them whine and complain and bring little to the table.  The mainstream media should report progress and set backs; their bias is so obvious only the intellectually dishonest will deny it.

To commenter #5773, if anyone’s grandstanding, it’s the Bush adminstration. These people talk a great game when it behooves them, but simple security procedures at airports and the like are not enacted.  These less sensational, rational adjustments could save scores more lives than the war in Iraq. Anyone who thinks that taking Saddam makes US citizens safer is an idiot.  And, btw, I’ve read many accounts from US soldiers in Iraq who claim that all is not well. It’s subjective and you must have comprehensive (ie good and bad) information to make any informed decision.

Keith in typical liberal fashion you take an argument to an extreme point of view and get into moral grandstanding rather than address the FACT that the overwhelming majority of the new coverage is negative.  Ask a soldier what’s going on over there, and what kind of progress is being made and you find a vastly different version of events than most Americans will tell you.  This is largely because most Americans depend on the mainstream media for their information and are sadly ignorant.  I know you Keith are too intelligent (sincerely) to believe that the media is really not biased against the administration.  To the point that they will hammer the military and the presidents decision to go to Iraq.  What I want to ask everyone who thinks the President is some kind of idiot for going to Iraq is to consider this.  You are the president of the country that has just been attacked and lost 3000 lives on 9-11.  You have a country like Iraq who at the very least was posturing to be a threat, was funding terrorist organizations including Al-Queda, and violating terms of the UN agreements that kept Iraq from being attacked in the first place.  What do you do?  I am glad we have a president that has the balls to smack them down and go over there and try to set up a free government.  We need more leaders like Bush who aren’t afraid to make unpopular decisions to protect our interests, instead of a bunch of cowards trying to get re-elected.

I don’t know much about Keith Olberman, but I’m glad someone called Laura Ingraham out on this issue.  I saw her “performance” on the Today Show, and it was embarassing. She gave no information, other than to brag about her bravery and show stupid pictures of her posing with the US troops.

And as far as the “good news” these people are covering a war! Of course they’re going to bring back news involving death and destruction. This attack on negative media coverage is just a ploy to take your minds off the real issues.

Memo to Greg: Pious twit? Nice touch there buddy. Didnt know right wingers were capable of being creative. Kudos!!

Keith Olberman earns my respect for being someone who stands up to this Goebbelesque propaganda machine Bush has been shoving down our throats. How can these guys whine about the unfair coverage of the media when they have their own personal TV network (FOXnews)? How can they say they are not getting their point across when every day LImbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Ingram et al peddle their hate non stop?

Liberal media bias? What liberal? When good journalists like Chris Matthews are turning into sellouts, it is refreshing to see men like Keith OLberman still exist to uphold the “American” way.  YOU GO BOY!

Olbermann is a pious twit. He loves to criticize The Bush administration and obsess over FoxNews/Bill O’Reilly but gets all self-righteous and angry when his precious NBC network gets called on the carpet. Poor baby.

What a hypocritical moron. Btw, the “Today” show has already started airing more balanced reporting due to Laura’s comments. Don Imus echoed the same sentiments on his radio-show this morning as well. The tide will turn regardless of what Olbermann thinks. Then again, does anyone outside of the far-left loons even care what he thinks?
