ABC via Think Progress: In tonight’s interview on ABC, Bush revealed how detached he was from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina: VARGAS: When you look back on those days immediately following when Katrina struck, what moment do you think was the moment that you realized that the government was failing, especially the people of New Orleans? BUSH: When I saw TV reporters interviewing people who were screaming for help. It looked—the scenes looked chaotic and desperate. And I realized that our government was—could have done a better job of comforting people. Truthdig says: Could have done a better job comforting people? When you couple this with the Dubai nonsense, a nuclear deal for India (while of course those bad Iranians shouldn’t have a nuclear capability), the tape that indicated the administration really was warned about the levies breaking, and the hundreds of trailers sitting in a lot instead of being given to victims of Katrina, you have to conclude that the “Mad Hatter” is running things. This is clearly an administration that is out of control with no real policy to guide it. Makes one wish for a Parliamentary form of government. At least we wouldn’t have to wait 3 years to get rid of these losers.
