Boot Camps for Wayward Teens Go Unregulated OverseasPosted on Jan 26, 2006AlterNet: From the Czech Republic to Costa Rica and Mexico, cops have seized American overseers for caging or mistreating American teens at harsh “boot camps” run under foreign flags to escape U.S. law. But here at home, the companies that ship teenagers to remote reform schools can freely go about their business in many states. You can dial 1-800-355-TEEN to reach the sales staff of Teen Help, LLC, who can arrange for your child to be spirited away. They might put you in touch with “escorts,” guys who can pull up to your driveway in a van and transport even the most defiant child to the airport. The next destination is up to you: a “tough love” school here in the 50 states, like Majestic Ranch in Utah or Spring Creek Lodge Academy in Montana? story —Posted by Blair Golson. Boot camps is an institution that could help troubled teens. Parents needed the help that they could get to let their teens transform to a new and a better person. Let them be in a boot camp and a great transformation on permanently modifies their behavior, builds self-esteem and self-confidence which are necessary attributes to meet life’s challenges and for lifelong success.

I think parents approach are somewhat different towards boarding their troubled teens to any program, and they are very cautious in their approach of finding a very reputable, cost effective program. I am also in very much favor of home based intervention plan/program for troubled teens, but not for those teens who have severe violent outbursts & mental disorders. The Home Intervention System will help you deal with a wide range of problems that children often encounter including; anger, substance abuse, school issues, self-esteem, arguing, motivation, interacting with family, and more. The system I am talking about is good solution for troubled youth like I mentioned above, as no Parenting technique, approach, talk, or change on your part will work until your child is motivated to listen to and follow your directions. Most children don’t lack the ability to obey their parents or follow rules, they simply lack the motivation to do so. The Home Intervention System was developed by administrators of schools and programs for struggling youth and has been adapted for home use. The Home Intervention System shows you how to motivate your teen to make changes just like they do in these schools and programs. The System utilizes a simple but powerful Attitude and Behavior Modification Program.

Yes, its very concerning when teens are treated very harsh at boot camps. But I don’t agree that nearly all of the troubled teen boarding camps does loose their reputation regarding few cases that happened in the past. But its really sad incident, and parents of troubled teen, yet are very cautious in their approach of finding a right boarding/boot camps/therapeutic school etc for their youth. But for parents, I must advice do some reasonable searches, if possible do visit the facility to look for how they are working, don’t forget to search for their reputation. If possible ask parents of others teens who have enrolled their youth to such type of facility. What are boarding schools and what do they have to offer the parent of a troubled teen? Doctor Phil did a TV show concerning our troubled teens. During that show Doctor Phil recommended parents consider the boarding schools as an effective solution. A good school will offer both wilderness training and academic training. Both programs are set up to work apart from the other. Both components to this type of teaching can stand-alone. By the time the troubled teen is ready to go back home, he or she will have learned amazing and valuable skills.
