AP: BAGHDAD, Iraq - Police said gunmen killed at least 10 security guards and seized an African engineer in an ambush Wednesday in Baghdad, while Iraqi authorities held out hope that kidnapped American journalist Jill Carroll would be released.

Meanwhile, the sister of Iraq’s interior minister was freed by kidnappers about two weeks after being seized in Baghdad, an official said.
