Cheney Spews Election NonsensePosted on Oct 31, 2006During an interview with Fox News, Dick Cheney said insurgents have increased the level of violence in Iraq in order to influence the U.S. election. Although the claim appears on its face reckless and contrary to the facts, one must consider the possibility that the vice president was in fact referring to himself and his colleagues in the Bush administration as insurgents.

There was no insurgent in Iraq prior to the war.
Insurgents are created by the war on false pretense.
You got your war. You got your insurgents, what’s next?

It seems to me that Cheney is right. The fighting is getting more intense in Iraq because the Iraquis want to influence the outcome of our election. It stands to reason that those making bundles of money keeping the war going prefer that Republican war mongers win our election because it’s one way for certain Iraquis to make money. It’s in their interest to keep the US fighting in Iraq for as long as possible, and that means getting Republicans elected.
Hasn’t anyone noticed that for all the billions of dollars the US has expended in Iraq there’s very little to show for it? The Iraquis still have no effective social or material infrastructure to support their society. They have few schools, few hospitals, an ineffective and impotent police and military, no banking system, or virtually anything to show for all the money expended for “becoming a Democracy.”

Come on, readers, stop being victims. They lie. Of course they lie. Truth isnt important. Only what they think in their head, only what concoctions get brewed in their bunker-like mentality, seem to be real to them. Or as attacks, or to justify what is being done. So why why, indeed? would anyone expect anything else from them? It was convenient to lie about Iraq being connected to Al Qaeda. It was convenient to lie about the reasons for starting the Iraq war. It’s convenient to lie about the economy. Bushs head is so muddled that he probably believes it; Rove likes twisting peoples heads; so does Cheney. By this time they may believe we went to war to stop Al Qaeda in Iraq. But my point is: Who cares? Its not true and truth IS NOT IMPORTANT TO REPUBLICANS at this point in time. The media by and large arent journalists, or keepers of the truth flame; they by and large sell advertising and entertain; they have no discipline or sensitivity or even any reason to ask hard questions. The media is the space between the ads that produce revenue. Why, oh why, do people always seem to react to the lying? Its playing the victim, and that seems to be the role many have assigned for themselves. When you get over it, and strike back to reclaim the electorate by asking the hard questions and not dumbing down statements like so-and-so or Bush lied today, or Bush or Cheney made wildly conflicting statements today or Bush or Cheney didnt answer the question he was asked. When this begins to happen, when influential people say, Stop the madness, they wont be victims any more. So if you help Republicans in any way, by not voting or by not persuading your friends and family to vote, by not contributing to the Democrats, you’ll be helping to promote a draft, and more of the same madness that has been going on with this Republican majority, among other things too stupid to mention. So make sure the Democrats win this time around, and don’t jawbone about it or prevaricate or think about how inept or stupid they are, just vote for them. Right now the Democrats are the only force that will balance off the Republican’s march to a totalitarian state; they may become corrupt but it’ll take some time for that to happen.

I don’t understand why the obvious truth (that has been known for quite some time now) is not spelt out in clear terms, which is, all the mess in Iraq, the destruction of the middle class from outsourcing, inadequate border and port security etc,etc can be traced to one and only one main reason, which is, the dismal and pathetic lack of leadership of the person residing at 1600 Pennsilvania Ave and his republican cronies in congress.
Don’t you think the president with his republican majority in congress can do all the right things, guided by ‘common sense’(or is that asking for too much?) with the stroke of his pen, if he wants to ?????
For the irresponsible media to blame the democrats as much as the republicans in an attempt to be ‘fair and balanced’ or appear ‘impartial’ is not only ludicrous but also a distortion of who is to be held accountable first and foremost.
So long as this grand charade and pretense ‘for glory’ is entertained by the majority of the electorate, dog-tags and flag draped coffins are going to pour in from Iraq, which begs the question,"How many dead bodies and maimed limbs will it take to change the course of an ill conceived military adventure?” it is time to admit the truth and deal with reality.
If the Dems are bad, the republican majority in Congress is dreadful and horrendous; lumping the two together, there by making them “share” the numerous fiascos, is inaccurate and misleading reporting.
By the way, whatever happened to the “Able Danger” inquiry and the John Connyer “Downing Street Memo” investigation ?

p.s. I have a response to right-wing perverted slogan “cut & run”, It is “Stay and Die” in Iraq for our brave soldiers who has been deprived of proper body armour, extra troops to get the job done and worst of all, NO PLAN OR SRTATEGY TO DEAL WITH THE INSURGENTS !!!!!!!!!

How come if the Democrats discuss the war for political gain it is “playing politics” with the war, but when the republicans do this they are considered tough on terrorism. Oy!
The insurgents are right; the American Will has been nearly broken. But, it is not by al-qaeda, it is by our current administration!
The rhetoric coming out of our politicians mouths is embarrassing.
Regardless of who wins the senate, congress or even the Whitehouse, nothing drastic will change. The powers that be are blue or red, liberal or conservative are all skimming and stealing from the American people.
Our glorious 200+ year experiment is about over. The ubber rich are gettin richer, the rich are gettin richer, the middle class is getting poorer, the poor are getting poorer.
One day, Republicans and Democrats will look back and wonder how we messed up and squandered such a good system.

If they don’t lie and cheat, they can’t win.
This ilk must be “brought to justice.”
An illegal war, lies and torture have brought shame on America.
The ‘Patriot Act’ has abolished the Bill of Rights.
Diebold has stolen our votes.
Now they’re running scared, and getting desperate.
War for no good reason is murder.

Even if this is true, is he saying that we should elect Rebublicans for no other reason than our enemies feel one way or the other about the outcome?
