House Majority Leader John Boehner had some warm words for the embattled defense secretary on Sunday: “I think Donald Rumsfeld is the best thing that’s happened to the Pentagon in 25 years.” The remark prompted Democrats to renew their call to oust the enabling majority in Congress.
AP (via Yahoo!):
Rumsfeld’s leadership of the bloody mission in Iraq has become a divisive issue in the Nov. 7 elections. Many Democrats and a few Republicans are calling for his resignation, but President Bush repeatedly has defended him. So did House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, during an appearance Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
“I think Donald Rumsfeld is the best thing that’s happened to the Pentagon in 25 years,” Boehner said. “This Pentagon and our military needs a transformation. And I think Donald Rumsfeld’s the only man in America who knows where the bodies are buried at the Pentagon, has enough experience to help transform that institution.”
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., said voters will have their chance to show if they agree with Boehner on Election Day.
“It’s true President Bush may not be on the ballot, but people like Boehner and people who support Rumsfeld and Cheney and Bush, they’re on the ballot,” Rangel said on CNN’s “Late Edition.”
“And that’s why we only get two years. You don’t have to wait to get the president. This is a referendum on the war and the incompetency of the Bush administration.”
We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.
In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.
Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.
Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Just look at the guy’s face! He’s sticking it to the US and the constitution and is getting a real rise out of all of it. This man is an absolute disgrace to the office of Representative (though granted the GOP has been wiping their hind sides with the prestige of this body for many years now).

With the likes of John Boehner and several other House Representatives makes me wish I could vote ageanst all of them. I wonder if he meant it as a figure of speech, or something more with his remark about the bodies buried at the entagon.

These comments he made yesterday on top of his Foly scandal involvement should be proof to his districts voters why they don’t want to return him to Congress, evil praising evil, the comment he made about Cheney knowing about where the bodies are buried is more compelling, see I am one of the “bodies” I was part of a project called MKULTRA, the Pentagon and the CIA used 7120 soldiera and air men from 1955 thru 1975 at EDgewood Arsenal in chemical weapons and drugs, and Rumsfeld is still preventing the 4000 surivors and the widows of the 2098 deceased veterans from obtaining veterans benefits related to the program, yup he definately knows where the bodies are http://www1.va.gov//vhi/docs/CBR_www.pdf you will notice this manual from the government does not mention MKULTRA just the experiments themselves at Edgewood among it’s many other WW2 and Cold War test programs.

Does anybody else find it chilling that he would say Rummy knows where the bodies are buried. I can see this in a campaign commercial coming soon. We at home know where the bodies are buried Arlington National Cemetery.
