Bush ‘Furious’ Over Woodward and Foley, Says Paper

“There’s steam coming out of [Bush’s] ears over the Foley thing,” someone close to Bush told the N.Y. Daily News. The president is reportedly likewise furious with administration insiders for being so candid with Bob Woodward for his new book.

N.Y. Daily News:

WASHINGTON - Suddenly, like the fierce “blue northers” that sweep across Texas each autumn, the political winds have turned bleaker for Republicans - and President Bush’s private mood has blackened accordingly.

... [F]riends, aides and close political allies tell the Daily News Bush is furious with his own side for helping create a political downdraft that has blunted his momentum and endangered GOP prospects for keeping control of Congress next month.

Some of his anger is directed at former aides who helped Watergate journalist Bob Woodward paint a lurid portrait of a dysfunctional, chaotic administration in his new book, “State of Denial.”

In the obsessively private Bush clan, talking out of school is the ultimate act of disloyalty, and Bush feels betrayed from within.

“He’s ticked off big-time,” said a well-informed source, “even if what they said was the truth.”

... Bush has complained, these sources said, that the scandal torpedoes furious GOP efforts to reenergize a dispirited political base - especially Christian conservatives.

“There’s steam coming out of his ears over the Foley thing,” someone who talks to the President regularly said. “The base is starting to get turned off again.”

The Story of Two Elephants!

Since I landed on the shores of this country 30 years ago, I’ve been wondering why in the world would any party take the elephant as its symbol! The few times I asked about the meaning of that symbol, I got no answer! So I decided to stop asking and began to imagine answers: Is it because it has thick skin? Is it because it’s fat and slow? I really would appreciate an informed response, especially from an elephant-follower or worshipper.

After lately seeing a picture of elephats from the back and watching the news about the ugliness of those who have the elephat as their symbol, I have come to the conclusion that elephants are really ugly animals, especially when viewed from the back! A terrible smell can kill you!

This connects me to a historical event recorded in the Qur’an. There is a Chapter on the “People of the Elephant.” Those were Christians from South Yemen of pre-Islam Arabia. They were envious of the pagan people of Mecca for having the Holy Sanctuary, called the Ka’bah, located in their city, which was attracting the trading caravans between ancient China and Arabia. They decided to invade Mecca with a huge army headed by their leader mounting on a single elephant, in order to destroy the Ka’bah. The Qur’an says that, miraculously, God sent upon them hosts of heavenly birds which belted the army with pebbles causing its destruction and defeat. This took place in the year 570/71; the same year Prophet Muhammad was born.

Could it be that history would repeat itself?! That time it was the people of one elephant invading Mecca and destroyed miraculously by God. This time another people with large numbers of uglier, wilder and more destructive elephants invading neighboring Iraq, and being defeated, slowly but steadily, by outnumbered, and out equipped courageous bunch of freedom fighters! Soon history will give its answer! And some people might start again believing in miracles.

Look, I’m as far left as you can get without becoming a Maoist, and so far as I know it’s not a “high crime or misdemeanor” to be piously stupid and incompetent. It’s true the formulation is what Congress says it is, but I don’t buy it, even as payback. Let the guy serve out his term. He’s the best thing for the Democrats since Richard Nixon. Besides, do you really think a Democratic congress would prefer to deal with President Cheney?

I want to see the Bush/Republicans charged, tried, convicted and punished for their crimes against the people of the United States of America and the people of the world.

“,,,someone who talks to the President regularly said. “The base is starting to get turned off again.”

Does this mean that someone other than the POTUS is in a position to relay to us what the Lord Almighty is thinking?

To put this in perspective, the clinically deranged are known to believe they converse with deities. This assessment of the GWB would qualify him for the position of ultimate patsy in the whole 9/11-War-of-Civilizations scheme - to be sure not the designer but the What Me Worry fall guy. Whether he’s fall on the sword with any measure of grace might be worth taking odds on.

Petty-minded Georgie is furious!!! The poor intellectually challenged midget!!!

May I suggest an Arabic formula! Let him go and drink the salty water of the sea; so that per chance it might cool him down!

Moreover, I didn’t need a 500-page book by Bob Woodward to tell me about what I knew by instinct three years ago when I wrote, humoristically but ironically, under the heading:

BIGGEST SECURITY PROBLEM:

The biggest security problem the U.S. and the world face is George Bush; he is the drunk behind the wheel.

He is in a state of denial about his physical and/or mental intoxication problem. He refuses to check into the clinic. He says, “Clinics are for mentally sick people, and I am the only sane and sober person in the world today! Guess why? Because God… opps! The Devil talks to me directly… you know I am his deputy on Earth… Ha ... Ha ...Ha...”

If I knew that Bob Woodward would come years after and give the phrase “state of denial” as the title to his now famous book, I would have copyrighted this phrase!

When Hugo Chaves recently called G.B. the Devil, I was greatly entertained to have such an important person seconding my opinion on the Shrub.

What important people are saying openly about Bush recently, I said it over three years ago. It almost started to get to my head that I am possibly one of the very few who are ahead of their times when it comes to deep thought, critical thinking, farsightedness and natural psychology.

“One of the posters, mentioned that they were audited last year by the IRS, and that they obtained information that the IRS had been monitoring their web activity, and had even labeled it Anti American.”

They just don’t get it.  I consider myself a Patriot.  I read the US Constitution regularly and think it is the most wonderful and beautiful document ever written.  If I have faith in ANYTHING on this Earth, I have faith that our Constitution is a beautiful and special thing that needs to be treasured and nurtured and cared for.

Presidents, Congressmen, Senators, Judges, Warriors ALL swear an oath or affirmationto UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION!  Not an oath to the flag, not an oath to the nation, but to the CONSTITUTION!  Loyalty to our Constitution is the HIGHEST form of patriotism.  When they swear to defend it against ALL enemies, internal or external, it’s enemies of the Constitution FIRST, even before the Nation.

That’s why it is IMPOSSIBLE to defend the Nation by suspending the Constitution!

George Will, a conservative, put it best: Our Nation is UNIQUE in that to become a citizen, you simply have to agree to abide by a contract, and that contract is...The United States Constitution.  Sure, there are a lot of legal hoops, but to be a citizen, that’s really ultimately all you have to do--agree to the Contract.

The United States of America isn’t so much a place, as it is an IDEA. And that IDEA is crystalized in our Constitution.  Without our Constitution, our land is just, well, dirt, water and cement. A place.  With it, even the most barren desert or ice pack is Paradise.

I love my country. I am SO proud of our Constitution, the greatest legal document in the history of the World!  And I hate anyone who wants to destroy that document.  I want to see them tried for High Treason.  Because without our Constitution, our principles, our rights, our legal system, we are just another tyrannical empire.

But with our Constitution, and our faith in its wisdom, and our faith in the rightness of its principles, we can return to being the shining beacon we are SUPPOSED to be.

We need to take back the House and Senate on November 7.  We need to exercise Article 1, Section 3 of the United States Constitution to legally remove George W. Bush and his cronies from office and to bar them from EVER holding a “position of trust” in our government.

Once we do that, we can charge them for the crimes they have committed. We MUST allow them what they would deny to others--the right to a full and fair defense, then, hopefully convict and imprison them.  I think ALL of them would look good in orange jumpsuits!

If those bastards think Truthdig is “Anti-American”, then they have NO idea what being a LOYAL PATRIOTIC American means!

Bush’s ilk are very dangerous when they are cornered. He is apt to channel the energy of his Dragon Queen mother and end up striking
out before the elections.  Do not misunderestimate his mental state.
And remember that he is probably on Paxil or some other SSRI.  His father was on Prozac during Gulf War One.  His mother is the one running the show, as his mind is linked with hers.  (If you were a dragon, where would you hide ?  No-one would suspect your presence inside of some white-haired old woman.)

I’m really glad that Mr. Bush is not quite a dictator yet.

Though I must say, that recently I was saddened by the closing down of the politics forum in one of my favoriet web sites. Directly related to Mr. Bush’s torture bill. The owners of the forum felt compelled to do this, because of their fears of jail, and quite possibly torture at the hands of our government.

One of the posters, mentioned that they were audited last year by the IRS, and that they obtained information that the IRS had been monitoring their web activity, and had even labeled it Anti American.

So when I read this article I was quite pleased to see that Mr. Bush has also suffered from his own incompetance, and that he has felt emotional pain directly related to his myopic and ignorant political policy.

When I look at all the suffering one man has caused, all the death, ignominity, and sorrow that others will live with for the rest of their lives, I feel quite sad.

I’m sorry I just can’t help it. I believe that if the Dems cannot win in November then many millions of others will suffer, and it could be the end of our Country.

“The base is starting to get turned off again.” How hugely funny and fraught with symbolism. The Republicans worry about “the base.” Al Qaeda, as we all know, literally means “the base.” Dems worry about the rest of us. The issue has never been whether the Republican base is turned on or off. It’s whether Republicans will again poison the well by keeping significant numbers of “non-base” voters (especially blacks) from the polls while preventing other votes from being counted.

Bush furious?  Well, yeah . . .

Losing the House= Impeachment.
Losing the House AND the Senate = Conviction and removal from office.
