Watchdog Group: FBI Lied About Foley Probe

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has asked the DOJ to launch an investigation into why the FBI “fabricated and disseminated a cover-up story as to why it never investigated the Foley emails sent to it by CREW.”

This is big. There now appears to be incontrovertible evidence that the FBI is engaged in a coverup.

CREW:

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) wrote to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General’s (I.G.) office today to ask for an investigation into why the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has fabricated and disseminated a cover-up story as to why it never investigated the Foley emails sent to it by CREW.

CBS News has reported that according to the FBI when CREW gave the Bureau the original set of emails from Rep. Mark Foley to a former House page, they were “heavily redacted.” The FBI is also claiming that it came back to CREW and asked for more information so that it could follow up, but that CREW refused to provide anything further. Reporters from several other news organizations have repeated this allegation. The FBI is lying.

On Monday, October 2, CREW sent a letter to the DOJ I.G.‘s office, attaching exact copies of the emails CREW had sent to the FBI on July 21, 2006. Both the former page’s name and the person to whom the page forwarded Rep. Foley’s emails were clearly visible. Moreover, after CREW sent the emails to the FBI, CREW’s only subsequent contact with the Bureau was one telephone call from the special agent to whom CREW had sent the material confirming that the emails were from Rep. Foley. CREW had no further contact with the FBI.

All these government lies sure are costly.  First Bush lies about the WMD and our soldiers die and now we have the FBI lying about Congressman Foley’s emails to a young boy, enabling Foley thereby to continue his predatory ways.

That’s not to say that there isn’t truth in what our president and his underlings tell us, just that each and every time they open their mouth the truth is the opposite of what they say.

Why should anyone be shocked at this revelation about the FBI?! I always wondered about this issue: “If the FBI has the authority to investigate everyone, including the President and Congress members, then who will investigate the FBI when they do wrong?!” I believe that the FBI and CIA are two American institutions that serve the interests of the people in power; that’s how they have their good piece of the power cake.

For example, I am a strong believer that, at worse, big guys in the FBI and CIA were involved in planning and staging the 9 /11 event at the request of and in the interest of the Bush Administration. At best, those big guys at these two institutions turned the other way to allow the Mossad to do it. This is the way it is, people in power support each others; otherwise they all loose!

Humanity needs to device a new system of government if they don’t like what they see and get from their governments. It is all about power stupid, and the truly cunning ones disguise that under the intoxicating allure of the word “democracy.” Those who are less cunning become the monarchs, the dictators, the fascists and the Nazis the world has known throughout its history!

The American People are being given the chance to take a really long hard look at their government, the people who represent them, the people who are charged with protecting them.  2006 could be the beginning of a velvet revolution!  We are certainly headed to a fascist state and although 50% of us don’t see it yet, perhaps one more cover-up, one more lie, one more stupid speech by our inarticulate leader, one more voting machine that doesn’t count the ballots will stop fascism before it really takes hold.  Am I just gooseing butterflies here, or will the American people stand up and take responsibility for their blindness.  In the quest of “tax cuts”, they have turned the country over to thieves and liars. It is my belief than when history reports on this period of time, it will not be just a “comma” as our president recently said, it will be the beginning of a time when the American people stood up for their constitution and defeated fascism before it took hold, or it will be the beginning of the end of this empire.

Faced with fending off the backlash from the Mark Foley scandal, House Republicans took the offensive Friday, asking Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats to testify about whether they engaged in partisan trickery by releasing Foley’s messages weeks before the midterm elections.

Top GOP leaders—including House Speaker Dennis Hastert, of Illinois, and Majority Leader John Boehner, of Ohio—have accused the Democrats of knowing about Foley’s correspondences with teen pages, and waiting to release them until it was politically advantageous.

Offensive, not, typical GOP damage control, blame anyone who’s convenient, accountability is not in GOP vocabulary!

I think it’s the other way around, the GOP was caught fair and square and if they hadn’t interfered with the FBI probe initiated by CREW this would have all come in July instead of October just before the elections.

Hey, GOP, you got your just dessert, it’s your own fault, time to own up.

Oh, great! Not only do government members fail to report unethical and illegal goings on, but when they ARE reported to the “proper authorities”, THEY cover it up to.

I’m beginning to see the attraction some people find in living in a cabin in the mountains a thousand miles from anywhere. How do you know who to trust?

why is anybody shocked?—it’s the fbi’s job to harass innocent citizens

the last thing the fbi does is to investigate members of government who harass innocent citizens even if the victims happen to be under aged
