Gitmo beatings
From Salon.com

An iconic image of beatings at Guantanamo. (The guard pictured is not one of the men described in the article.)

Guantanamo guards are bragging in bars about things like slamming detainees heads into cell doors, according to a Marine sergeant’s sworn statement, surfaced by the AP.

  • Don’t miss Rolling Stone’s riveting, sickening blow-by-blow account of these practices

  • AP:

Guards at Guantanamo Bay bragged about beating detainees and described it as common practice, a Marine sergeant said in a sworn statement obtained by The Associated Press.

The two-page statement was sent Wednesday to the Inspector General at the Department of Defense by a high-ranking Marine Corps defense lawyer.

The lawyer sent the statement on behalf of a paralegal who said men she met on Sept. 23 at a bar on the base identified themselves to her as guards. The woman, whose name was blacked out, said she spent about an hour talking with them. No one was in uniform, she said.

The picture of the man that looks as though he is about to punch a bound person on the ground is not from GITMO. This is one of the pictures released during the Abu Grab incident. Doesn’t excuse the behavior however misreplesentation of the photos origin says a lot about your credability which seems to be lacking. If you are trying to act as a credible journalistic enterprise you are held to the same standards!

All of this is left wing propaganda. It would make me laugh that any of you believe it if it were not so sad and disappointing.
I will not say that that are never any abuses because these guards are human.
Our military people are held to the highest standards of any in the world and 99.99 % are good.
You people need to read and something besides left wing blogs, NBC and YouTube.
