Bush’s approval rating stands at 36%, according to a new Time poll (scroll down); that’s down from 38% in August.

  • Also: Two-thirds believe the GOP tried to cover up Foleygate—i.e.,  two-thirds believe Hastert is lying.

  • Time:

... President Bush’s overall approval rating, according to TIME’s poll, now stands at just 36%, down from 38% in August.

Two-thirds of Americans aware of the congressional-page sex scandal believe Republican leaders tried to cover it up—and one quarter of them say the affair makes them less likely to vote for G.O.P. candidates in their districts come November. Those are among the findings of a new TIME poll conducted this week among 1,002 randomly-selected voting-age Americans.

Reminds me of the famous Abe Lincoln quote, “You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time….”

Yes TM! And how his company was providing steel to the nazis and in turn being used in weaponry against the allies not to mention the use of slave labor. Maybe Keith Obermann would have the balls! He is about the only one these days.

How come SO many Americans can’t stand Bush, but he’s still President?

How come there are far more Democratic voters in America, yet there are more Republican senators and Congressmen?

How come Pennsylvania has half a million more Democrats than Republicans, yet PA has 12 GOP congressmen, but only 7 Dems, and both Senators are Republican?

In other words, how come SO many more Americans support the Democrats than the Republicans but the Republicans dominate?

I know why, and so does any one with a brain. The Republicans are better at gaming the system, better at gerrymandering seats, better at getting blatantly partisan Secretarys of State at the state level (a la Katherine Harris), better a getting THEIR brand of voting machines, and better at getting lots and lots of corporate money (the K-Street Plan).

All of these things have been done to create an imbalance to get them power.  DeLay started it with his efforts to create a “permanent majority” (ie, GOP dictatorship) and now, we have Mad King George and his band of Merrie Fascists who want to complete the job and outlaw ALL dissent, all questioning of MKG, and all of the Constitution.

    VOTE DEMOCRATIC ON NOVEMBER 7!

(You Republicans, stay moral—you can’t vote for guys and gals who hid Foley’s child molesting. Stay home and don’t support them.  Tell yourself it’s because they are defending a Gay guy. Tell yourself ANYTHING but remember: If you are true to your “Christian” values you can’t vote Republican.  You WON’T vote Democratic, so the best way to stay pure is STAY HOME!)

    Foley Scandal + Hastert Cover-up = GOP Corportist"values”
The GOP “fathers” have “weight in”, accourding to Bush Sr. Hastert stays.  Jim Baker said it best,” If we throw Dennis Hastert off the sled, Hey it won’t be long before their saying we need to throw the rest of them off to because they knew too”.
These are the new GOP Conservative Corportist values” It’s called expedency.
