Rumsfeld Lies?:  Pat Tillman Case Review

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld made a cameo appearance on Capitol Hill Wednesday to testify about what he knew, and when, regarding the death of Cpl. Pat Tillman.  Facing Reps. Defying President Bush’s promise to veto the bill, House Democrats approved a broad expansion of the popular SCHIP program that would offer healthcare coverage to millions more poor children. Saudis Cautiously ‘Keen’ on Mideast Peace Talks

Hard to say whether the $20-billion arms package Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice brought to the negotiating table with Saudi Arabia has anything to do with Saudi leaders cottoning to the idea of meeting with Israel, Palestinians and select other Mideast states later this year.

Cheney Admits He Was Wrong

Vice President Dick Cheney is on a tear these days, standing up for his pal Alberto Gonzales, the Bush administration’s failed Iraq policy and his place in the executive branch (or not). But just when you thought you’d heard it all, Cheney came out with a shocking admission: He now knows he was wrong about the insurgency being in its “last throes.”
