A majority of Americans believe 2007 will bring a terrorist attack on the U.S., a major natural disaster and an increase in global warming, according to a new AP poll. Less than a third believe the U.S. will withdraw from Iraq, while 25 percent expect the second coming of Jesus.

Multiple Explosions Shake Bangkok

At least six small bombs exploded in Bangkok on Sunday, killing two and injuring at least 30. Many believe opponents of Thailand’s military regime are to blame in what appears to be the world’s second major case of domestic terrorism in two days, following an explosion at an airport in Madrid on Saturday.

At least four people were injured when a car bomb exploded at the Madrid airport on Saturday. If the separatist group ETA is responsible, as the Spanish government has charged, the blast would signal the end of a cease-fire that began in March.

Saddam Hussein may be gone, but President Bush still has a souvenir he uses to titillate special guests: the pistol Saddam was carrying when he was captured. Like a child showing off his favorite toy, the president has been known to beam with delight when guests view the mounted weapon, which is held in the Oval Office.
