Robert Scheer: Gaping Holes in the 9/11 Narrative

Five years out from the attacks, why do we still know so little about what really happened that day?

What we still dont know about 9/11 could kill us. By “we I mean the public that has been kept in the dark for five years by a president who may know the truth but has chosen to ignore it. Instead of grappling with the thorny origins of that disaster, George Bush willfully turned the nation’s attention and resources to a totally unrelated and disastrous imperial adventure in Iraq.

Just how unrelated was definitively established last Friday with the belated release of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s second report, which concluded that there not only was zero connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda, but that Iraq was the one country in the region where Osama bin Laden could not operate.

The story was much different in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the two countries that had recognized and otherwise supported the Taliban government that hosted bin Laden during the run-up to 9/11. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, and yet there has been no serious investigation of the extended royal familys role in the recruitment of bin Laden’s soldiers” and the ease with which they secured legal visas to enter the United States.

While funds for Al Qaeda emanated from the Saudi kingdom, the essential logistical support for Al Qaeda came from Pakistan. Now, five years later, bin Laden and the remnants of his organization are assumed by the United States to have found refuge in Pakistans unruly tribal region, where the Pakistan government recently has reduced its forces, conceding that it could not defeat local tribesmen sympathetic to the Taliban.

Nor has there been any credible accounting of the role of Pakistan’s intelligence community, then and now, in support of Islamic terrorists on both sides of the Pakistan-Afghan border. Or in the passage of Pakistans nuclear secrets to what Bush refers to as “rogue nations.”

Recall that the predominant excuse for invading Iraq was the claim that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and would be willing to pass them on to rogue regimes and terrorists. Not only were such weapons not found, but the evidence from the accounts of former administration insiders and the Senate Intelligence Committee makes clear that the administration was consciously cherry-picking the evidence to shore up its fraudulent case.

There were weapons of mass destruction being shipped to “rogue nations, but they were coming from Pakistan in an extensive program headed by Abdul Qadeer (A.Q.) Khan, the father of the “Islamic bomb.” The Pakistan government has admitted that Khan passed on to North Korea, Libya and Iran technical know-how and vital materials for the creation of nuclear weapons.  But Khan was pardoned of any crimes by Pakistan’s dictator general, President Gen. Pervez Musharraf. Khan is restricted only by a loose form of house arrest and has never been made available to U.S. investigators. Yet the Bush administration dropped the sanctions originally imposed on Pakistan in reprisal for its development of nuclear weapons in return for Pakistans support in the “war on terror.”

As for Afghanistan, the Taliban is on the rise. NATO commanders last week urgently requested more troops, and the country is now torn by the anarchy of a narco-state that is supplying 92% of the world’s heroin market and generating massive profits for gangsters and terrorists alike.  The country is now as dangerous for American soldiers as is Iraq.

Despite this sorry record of neglect in Southwest Asia and the creation of a quagmire and recruiting poster for terrorism in Iraq, Bush once again arrogantly asserts that his policies have made us safer, even as he has undermined our domestic freedoms and mocked the U.S. commitment to international law, particularly concerning the treatment of prisoners.

Last week, Bush conceded that there were indeed secret CIA prisons, when finally announcing that the group of “key witnesses” to the 9/11 disaster would be moved to Guantanamo and for once afforded visits from the Red Cross and minimal legal representation. Some of them have been interrogated in secret for up to five years, with the Bush administration left as the sole interpreter of what they revealed.

After five years of official deceit, it is not too difficult to believe that the isolation of those prisoners was done less for reasons of learning the truth about 9/11 and more in an effort to politically manage the narrative released to the public.

There is glaring evidence that the latter was the case.  The 9/11 Commission report contains a disclaimer box on page 146, in which it is stated that the report’s account of what happened on 9/11 was in considerable measure based on what those key witnesses allegedly told interrogators, and that the commissioners were not allowed to meet the witnesses or their interrogators.

We submitted questions for use in the interrogations, but had no control over whether, when or how questions of particular interest would be asked. Nor were we allowed to talk to the interrogators so that we could better judge the credibility of the detainees and clarify ambiguities in the reporting.”

In short, the most cited source that we have on what happened on 9/11, the much celebrated 9/11 Commission Report, was stage-managed by the Bush administration, just as it has controlled and distorted so much other information.

In light of that sorry record of the propagandistic exploitation of the 9/11 tragedy for partisan political purpose, is it any wonder that large numbers of Americans have doubts about all of it and that a considerable industry of documentaries and investigative reports has sprung up with alternative theories ranging from the plausible to the absurd?

In the sidebar to the left, we offer some examples of the better of those efforts, not by way of endorsing them but rather because there is so much reason to doubt the “truth” as the Bush administration has packaged it.

Thanks Gutsf for the referral you posted. I dislike sites you still pint the finger that Arabs were allowed to bomb WTC & Pantygone (joke).
I came across this site last week and should be of interest
http://www.wakeupfromyourslumber.com/node/6209
Concrete (bunker) bombs were developed in Clinton’s era.Bush could not have pulled the 911 after 8 months in office.
Quote from it-"The factual evidence indicates that our government is using and has used 3rd or possibly 4th generation hydrogen bombs domestically and internationally. The evidence for international usage is not quite as strong as the domestic usage, but when domestic usage is considered, the international usage seems inescapable. The process of exclusion based on the known facts leaves only one viable option for the destruction of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings - a relatively pure hydrogen bomb.”
Bush/Clinton regimes are worse than Stalin’s.

Not so.  In fact, of the three remaining candidates (Obama, Clinton, McCain), Obama’s speech to AIPAC was arguably the MOST pandering.  (All of the speeches are available online.)

As well, let’s not forget that, even without a conspiracy theory, the influence of CFR, TC and Bilderberg on the U.S. presidency and government is very real and very broad.  In this regard, Obama is CFR, and his wife is actually director of the local Chicago CFR chapter.  As well, his top foreign affairs advisor (Brzezinski) is all three (CFR, TC, Bilderberg), and about 1/3 od his inner circle advisors are CFR and/or TC.

The more things change, the more they stay the same…

Every generation of Americans produces a new set of suckers to be fooled by both the Republicans and the Democrats.  The Republicans (right-wing) set up 911, and the Democrats let them get away with it.  In effect, the Democrats drove their getaway car.

The gilded age, the Spanish-American War, the Coup attempt of 1933, the sabotaged 1968 Peace Talks, many rigged elections including the October Surprise, and numerous other acts of treason and coverup testify to the character of both “parties”, which are really just one.  True to character, the Democrats won’t really investigate 911 either.

Conservative Yankee,

To be honest and fair about it I need to retract the, “Not that Obama’s any better…” flippant remark I made earlier (wasn’t thinking straight). Obama’s “A More Perfect Union” speech ( http://tinyurl.com/2qorn9 ) at Constitution Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, March 18, 2008 now referred to as the “Obama race speech” really did contain some very powerful truths that underline why Pastor Jeremiah Wright felt motivated to blurt out those so-called “outrageous comments” that he did and we saw get frenzied media coverage worldwide. The media coverage really was a well-executed and orchestrated exercise in discrediting Obama’s credentials for not only his party’s nomination but to also say to all he’d be an unfit person because of his association with Wright to become President of the U.S. of A.

There was also quite a distorted attack directed at Obama down here in Australia courtesy of our national “unbiased fair-down-the-middle” free-to-air/taxpayer-funded broadcaster the ABC, that had several of us spitting chips after it aired. Not once does the Lateline presenter or his guest Hitchens refer to anything of substance that Obama spoke about in his speech (forget the transcript as it’s riddled with errors):

Llan:

Although I agree with you, there is actually a better way to approach this.  I have used it for some time, and recently heard David Ray Griffin use it as well.

The phrase “conspiracy theory” consists of two words: “conspiracy” - which is when two or more people plan a particular action, usually illegal in nature - and “theory,” which is a belief supported by evidence.

In this regard, the “official story” of 9/11 is as much a “conspiracy theory” as are alternative theories (the preferred phrase).  The government has a “theory” that there was a “conspiracy” (by bin Laden and members of Al Qaeda) to hijack airliners and fly them into certain buildings.  The supporting evidence for their “theory” is The 9/11 Commission Report.

It is that simple.  The government has one “conspiracy theory,” and alternative theorists have others.  There is no need to quash the phrase “conspiracy theory” as long as everyone understands that the “official story” is one as well.

And, of course, a theory is only as good as its supporting evidence.  In this regard, given the errors and omissions in the Report - and conflicts of interest of most of the commissioners - and some of the newer revelations that undermine the Report, it is becoming increasingly compromised, thus making it less and less supportive of the government’s “conspiracy theory.”

As an aside, for all of you who live in NYC, you can now sign on to a proposed ballot initiative that would create a new, thorough, non-political investigation into the attacks of 9/11.  Information can be found here:

Throughout this and other sites, the continued association of two unfriendly words, Theory and Conspiracy, that were most intentionally introduced together virtually into our gene pool after the 40s when the Nuclear Family concept was also launched to sell stuff,is unconscionable. It is not to be continued by any thinking or unthinking person. That association, now almost impossible to sunder, was even then preparing for the martial takeover of the country the current apparent government has been about this last decade. You may say Conspiracy Belief, but Theory, like quantum reality, is a tangible reality. And Belief is what theory floats upon.
This is a very serious challenge to diggers of all types at all truth information levels to not give away our freedom by the speaking and thus embracing of a malevolent mind virus.

To get into the Pearl Harbor question, I would have to deal with it like an obsessive hobby for a long time.  I have plenty of those already.

As I have noted to others, one cannot rely on a single source, no matter how seemingly “authoritative” it is.  And as someone who has read widely on this, I can tell you that “At Dawn We Slept” is NOT authoritative on the subject.

Rather, what I have gathered by reading numerous books, articles, etc., finding common threads, and reading between the lines, is quite different.

We start from the presumption that Roosevelt was looking for a way into the war, primarily to fight Hitler.  But American support for entering the war was low; ~85% were against it up to December 6th. Note also that Roosevelt was aware of the military pact between Germany and Japan, so he knew that if he could not engage Hitler directly, he could engage Japan and use the pact between them as an excuse to go after Hitler as well.  Here is the timeline:

-The Japanese “Enigma” code was broken in later Winter/early Spring of 1941.  However, since we did not tell them we had broken it, they continued using it.

-Sometime in late Summer/early Fall of 1941, a message was intercepted noting a planned attack on a “U.S. naval installation” “in the near future.”

Here the threads diverge slightly, and there are two schools of thought:

(a) Roosevelt assumed it would be Guam, since it was closer to Japan.  Those who support this theory say that Roosevelt might have been willing to sacrifice all or most of the minimal personnel and materiel at Guam in order to have his excuse to enter the war.

(b) Roosevelt knew it would be PH.  Those who support this theory point to the fact that (i) Roosevelt moved all the major ships in the fleet (particularly aircraft carriers) out of PH only weeks prior to the attack; and (ii) most of the personnel at PH were on shore leave (away from the ships), and would be out of harm’s way.

In either event, we know that immediately after the attack, American support for entering the war was over 90% - and December 8th saw the creation of the largest volunteer army ever created: over 1 million men enlisted.

As noted, it is always dangerous to use a single source to support ANYTHING.  One might was well say the Warren Commission Report and the 9/11 Commission Report are “authoritative” on their subjects.  Both were whitewashes of the highest order.  For goodness sake, while I am not suggest that ATWS is a whitewash, Prange was a career Navy officer.  Do you really think he would EVER suggest that PH was “allowed” to happen?

Better to search “Viet Minh” while you look at the French involvement which goes back to “helping” the Japanese run the country when they took over. Much is in French language, if you’re serious… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Ggih20lpc

Don’t forget, though, that nothing stopped there (in 1975) for the Vietnamese. Apart from the Southern refugees, the new regime had war with Cambodia and then another with China. Search “Sino-Vietnamese War” or “China Vietnam War” on YouTube

In the end, they made as much a mess of all the places the USA never reached http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZd3k24STnA&feature =related but a lot of the video on the net is from the Chinese PLA.

Hetzer:

I agree: the propaganda aspect of the “quiet coup” IS impressive.  Sadly and dangerously so.  As you well know, continued repetition of a lie creates a perception of truth; a good example is that 17% of Americans STILL believe there was a connection between Iraq and 9/11 - despite the fact that (i) none of the “hijackers” (if such they were) were Iraqi, (ii) there was no Al Qaeda activity in Iraq PRIOR to our invasion, (iii) Bin Laden HATED Hussein, so there was no love lost there, and (iv) all the lies re an Iraq/9-11 connection were debunked completely and thoroughly by both the alternative AND mainstream media.

There is an old joke that goes: “How do you know when so-and-so is lying?  His lips are moving.” Bush is probably the first person I have ever seen for whom this is literally true.  If you want to know what Bush will do, listen to what he says and you can predict with absolute certainty that he will DO exactly the opposite.  And yet people still take him at his word.

Everything Bush & Co. have done has been to (i) centralize power in the executive, and (ii) subtly undermine specific historical “safeguards” that will allow them to take actions that would never have been permitted in the past.  Some examples (and consider how these fit together): a sitting president can now unilaterally declare any person - including Americans - an “enemy combatant,” leading to up to three years of incarceration without access to family or lawyers; suspension of habeus corpus in cases of terrorism or “national security” (a dangerously broad term); a contract between the government and Blackwater (yes, them) that allows Blackwater to “assist” during “disasters and national emergencies”; and undermining the Posse Comitatus Act, which now allows a sitting president to declare martial law without the consent of Congress.

Now add to this the “Homeland Terrorism Act,” a bill before the Senate (already passed by the House) that is in direct contravention of the DOI, which would, among other things, make certain speech or other dissent “treasonous.”

Here is a prediction made by myself and others based on the above.

In order to complete the “quiet coup,” Bush & Co. obviously have to figure out a way to retain power, despite the upcoming elections.  Since we know that they are capable of “false flag” operations (9/11), here is how it might occur.

A month or two prior to the election in November, there is a “terrorist attack” (false flag) at least as big, if not bigger, than 9/11.  Perhaps in NYC again, perhaps in multiple cities in the U.S.  It could be biological, chemical, or even nuclear.  It will likely kill and injure many times more people than 9/11.

The Bush Administration can then declare martial law under the guise of a “national emergency,” bringing in both the National Guard and Blackwater to enforce it, and suspend the elections.  Anyone dissenting from this would risk being arrested - perhaps as an “enemy combatant,” or perhaps accused of “treason.” In either case, since habeus corpus would be suspended, there would be no legal recourse for these people.

Think it can’t happen here?  Think again.  Bush & Co. have quietly and successful set up everything they need to do this.  If the “Homeland Terrorism” Act is passed, that would complete the puzzle, allowing Bush to do exactly what is suggested above.

Peace.  (Maybe.)

Well, while I dislike the Bushies as much as you, it is something of hyperbole to compare them to Stalin and Hitler - yet.  Stalin murdered or caused to die ~50 million.  Hitler, ~11 million.  I doubt the number is that high for the Bushies.

What IS happening is that the Bushies are “taking a page” (or two) from the Stalin-Hitler Handbook on Centralizing Power and Creating a Fascist or Totalitarian State.

What is occurring in America is what is referred to as a “quiet coup” - one that need not include the military or any “force” at all: just the willing acquiescence of the populace.  And by creating a climate of fear via a never-ending “war on terror” (direct from Orwell), and using provenly successful propaganda techniques, that acquiescence is already occurring.

Peace.

The PBS has a relatively accurate depiction of Vietnam the 10,000 day war” which airs Saturday’s at 6:30 AM in the Eastern United States. (check local listings) It is a doucmentary complete with film footage of the actual events.

The French did not need a false flag event to leave Vietnam. Their people were tired of the endless drain of monetary resources, and returning dead.

Eisenhower began bailing the French out as soon as he took office. By 1954, the US was paying 80% of the costs of that war. At the time we were the sole power able to fight a continuing war.... AND, let’s face it (finally) the Viet Minh were just far more committed than some far away foreign power. Dien Bien Phu was a rout pure and simple. the French got their asses handed to them by the committed locals who gained the higher ground. If you doubt this check out the satellite data on the area surrounding Dien Bien Phu!

Those hills (above the French fire bases) are dense jungle, and the colonials believed them to be of no use to the Viet Minh.... they were wrong. Add to this the fact that the monsoon season had just begun, and you see that the French couldn’t walk and chew gum at the same time....

LOOSE NUKES SCARE 0:35
Air Force Secretary MICHAEL WYNNE talks about the “mistaken” flight of nuclear warheads across the country in August.
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/10/19/sot.wyn ne.loose.nukes.cnn

Air Force Secretary MICHAEL WYNNE:  “Nearly two months ago, ‘a series of’, ‘apparent errors’, led to a breakdown, in munitions handling procedures, and resulted in our, improper and unauthorised transfer, of six weapons.  This was ‘an unexceptable mistake’ (so shouldn’t Wynne resign? Should automatically be sacked), and a clear deviation from our exacting standards.  We hold ourselves accountable, to the American people, and want to ensure, proper corrective action, has been taken.”

NUCLEAR WARHEAD ACCOUNTABILITY 2:00
Air Force officers to be fired, and others face possible criminal charges after mishandling nuclear warheads.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/19/loose.nukes/index.htm l?iref=newssearch#cnnSTCVideo

“For 36 hours no one knew the weapons were outside Air Force safeguards that are supposed to be failsafe. ... Among the questions Air Force investigators looked at was ‘a waiver granted’ to store the ‘live’ nuclear weapons in the same bunker at Minot [Air Force Base in North Dakota] as missiles with dummy warheads, leading to the mistake.  Who authorised the waiver, and why?”

Seems very sinister. A practice run for another false flag op? Highly probable.

ADM. MIKE MULLEN (JOINT CHIEFS CHAIRMAN):  “Certainly, being at a point where we can assure everybody that we have control of these weapons, in a very assured way, is where we, is where we absolutely have to be.”

Comforting.

Air Force officers relieved of duty over loose nukes
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/19/loose.nukes/index.htm l?iref=newssearch

“A six-week probe into the mistaken flight of nuclear warheads across the country uncovered a “lackadaisical” attention to detail in day-to-day operations at the air bases involved in the incident, an Air Force official said Friday (10/19/07).”

“Our extensive, six-week investigation found that this was ‘an isolated incident’ and that the weapons never left the custody of airmen—were never unsecured—but clearly this incident is unacceptable to the people of the United States and to the United States Air Force.”—Maj. Gen. Dick Newton, assistant deputy chief of staff for operations.

“Relieved of duty were ... Newton didn’t name any of the officers, but Col. Bruce Emig had been the commander of the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot.”

“A number of other personnel—“under 100,” Newton said, including the entire 5th Bomb Wing at Minot—have lost their ‘certification to handle sensitive weaponry’.” Ooh,—“lost their ‘certification to handle sensitive weaponry’.”

“The matter will be referred to an Air Force convening authority to find out whether there’s enough evidence to bring charges or any other disciplinary action against any personnel, Newton said.”

Meanwhile:  “Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne called the incident “an unacceptable mistake and a clear deviation for our exacting standards.” Ho-hum.

“Wynne has convened a ‘blue-ribbon panel’ to review all of the Air Force’s security procedures and adherence to them.  That panel is to report back on January 15.” (Presumably, 2008.)

“The bomber carried six nuclear warheads on ‘air-launched cruise missiles’, but the warheads should have been removed from the missiles before they were attached to the B-52.”

However they assure us:

“A military official told CNN there was no nuclear risk to public safety because the weapons were not armed. Officials believe that if the plane had crashed or the missiles somehow had fallen off the wings, the warheads would have remained inert and there would have been no nuclear detonation, though conventional explosive material in the warhead could have detonated.”

This guy Stephen Lendman is saying the exact same thing:

“-- a national space policy as part of the goal for “full spectrum dominance” over all land, surface and sub-surface sea, air, space, electromagnetic spectrum and information systems to deter any domestic or foreign threat or challenge to our global hegemony; and,

There’s one other crucially important combined NSPD-HSPD:

NSPD-51/HSPD-20 on April 4, 2007 - National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive

This is a combined directive from the White House and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to establish “Continuity of Government (COG)” procedures under a “Castastrophic Emergency” defined as follows:

“any incident (such as a terrorist attack), regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the US population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions.”

Dr. Michael Parenti: “Terrorism, Globalism and Conspiracy”
http://www.workingtv.com:80/parenti.html

Parenti:  “I’d like to start with the most important one of those three. ... Most important of those three, which is globalisation. Globalisation is an attempt to extend corporate monopoly control, over the entire globe, over every national economy, over every local economy, over every life.  It does this by treating international corporate property rights, and international corporate investment rights, as supreme – as taking precedence over all other rights, including our democratic sovereignty.  You know, globalisation is being treated by its proponents, as a natural, inevitable process.  First we had, local economies, then they naturally became regional economies, and then national, and then international, and now one big global economy.  It just happens that way.  In fact, there’s nothing inevitable about it, and there’s certainly nothing natural about it. ‘Globalisation is being forced upon us through a series of secretive international trade agreements’.  Globalisation really, when you look at it historically, in a century’s old context, is a future variant of imperialism.  Imperialism is that system which the leading dominant elements in one country expropriate the land, the labour, the resources, the capital ... of other peoples of other countries.  And imperialism, imperialism itself, is an expansionist form of capitalism.”

Sam:

Re the quotes, lots of people say lots of things, not all of them serious, and certainly not all of them implementable or intended to be implemented.

Second, there is a HUGE difference between attempts to stabilize the earth’s population (what used to be called Zero Popoulation Growth, or ZPG) - which is what Buffett, Gates, Turner et al actually support - and “depopulation,” or any attempt to actually “kill off” a percentage of the earth’s population.

As for attempts to control how many children people have, no matter how real this is or might be it is simply unenforceable: people will have children if and when they want to, unless there are actually laws against it (and even that might not stop them): and no such laws exist - even in China, despite Jones’ assertion to the contrary.  Nor, by the way, was China successful in implementing the policy (not law) broadly when they tried to enforce it.

As an aside, I think we would actually all agree that overpopulation is among the most serious problems on the planet, and a threat to the continued existence of the human race vis-a-vis available resources.  I am not in any way suggesting that I support any particular concept here, only that Jones is playing fast and loose with words ("depopulation" as opposed to “population control” or other concept) and images.  And he continues to mix facts with demonstrably provable errors and/or hoaxes, which is unacceptable.

For example, the science is unclear re whether the sun is getting hotter.  The measure for this is called Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) and the scientific data that underlies TSI are called ACRIM I and ACRIM II.  According to this data, there is still some question as to whether the sun is or is not getting hotter.  HOWEVER, even if it is, it is only doing so by a tiny degree: .036 percent.  And according to the majority of news articles (both mainstream and alternative) on this, this increase might EXACERBATE problems of global warming, but is NOT CAUSING them.  This is confirmed by NASA, among others.

As well, Jones is COMPLETELY wrong regarding Mars and other planets.  Since Mars rotates on an axis and revolves around the sun, it has seasons just like earth does.  And the polar caps melt EVERY TIME Mars experiences the equivalent of its “summer,” which it is doing now.  And the polar caps re-constitute when Mars experiences the equivalent of its “winter.” As for other planets, according to NASA (among others), “Warming on another planet would be an interesting coincidence, but it would not necessarily be driven by the same causes.”

I am also outraged at Jones for two specifics.  First, his running roughshod over Rothschild’s responses.  Think what you will of the Rothschilds in general, Jones’ dismissals were unfounded and rude.  Second, his claim that the Gates’ work was “passed off as helping poor children.” In point of fact, the Gates’ are doing more to STOP diseases that kill millions of children - including malaria et al - than anyone else on the planet.

Re the “Georgia Guidestones,” I’d have to say that I heartily support all but the first.  Hope that doesn’t make me a proponent of the New World Order.  LOL.

Finally, if the “powers that be” (at least in the U.S.) are attempting “depopulation” measures, then can you explain why Madison Avenue and the corporate media - both of which are clearly part of “the system” - sell everything on...sex?  If they do not want people having children - which, I understand, requires sex (LOL) - then why would they push sex so hard on the general public?  And don’t tell me they support “protected” sex, since you hear NOTHING about contraception anymore.

Peace.

Maani, getting back to an earlier post, “#120054 by Maani on 12/13 at 5:07 pm”, in Pt.2 you said:

“WWF. How anyone could connect the founding of the World Wildlife Fund – an organization devoted to conservation, research and restoration of the natural environment – with something nefarious like the New World Order stretches credibility to new extremes: even bad people do good things once in a while, and if one or more of the founders of the WWF was of “questionable” character, this does not mean the organization has some ulterior motive.”

The question remains why would founding member of the WWF, Prince Philip of England (the ‘unquestionable’ one then if you wish) make such a comment:

“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.” – Prince Philip, reported by Deutsche Press Agentur (DPA), August 1988

Why would Ted Turner say in an Audubon Magazine interview: “A total world population of 250-300 million people. A 95% decline from the present levels, would be ideal.”

Why would Dr Eric Pianka say: “And I actually think the world will be much better when there’s only 10 or 20 percent of us left.”

Any idea what all this is about? And when you end your post:

“So I would not put too much stock in the two reports* - despite how “serious” they sound.  At least not yet.”

“At least not yet.”? By the time the vast majority of Americans, Canadians and Mexicans wake up it’ll all be over red rover.

Jojo:

Well…

It is unlikely that any new minting by the U.S. would be in gold.  And even if it were, there is already plenty of gold for that purpose.  But, as you know, gold has not been the underlying “value” of the U.S. dollar for some time; we unpegged the dollar from the gold standard decades ago.

As well, I question the claim that there was over “$167 billion” in gold under WTC.  The two largest gold repositories in the U.S. are the Federal Reserve in NYC (~$125 billion) and Ft. Knox (~$118 billion). I find it difficult in the extreme to believe that there was MORE gold under the WTC than in either of these caches.  This is not to say that there was not an awful lot of gold (and that it’s whereabouts, purposes and holders remain unknown), but methinks they dost exaggerate just a tad… (As Sam might say, this is where “intuition” comes in; i.e., whether something “feels” right.  I obviously cannot PROVE it, but the idea that there was more gold under the WTC than in the two largest repositories in the world just doesn’t jibe.)

Also, if OPEC is seeking to peg oil to a currency other than the dollar (which it is), it is BEYOND unlikely that they will peg it to a BRAND NEW currency - which (if it is) would be instituted at least partly because the dollar HAS become so weak, and is thus going to at very least BEGIN as an even WEAKER currency.

BTW, that looks like an excerpt from the revised )third?) edition of Loose Change, which I have not seen.  Looks good.

Peace.

Sam:

I want to give you a perfect example of what happens when one doesn’t do one’s own research.

Here are two links I want you to see, re the North American Union and the Amero.  Take the time to read the links before you scroll down to my comments.  It should only take you a few minutes for both.

Okay.  I’m sure you are all riled up now.  And feel vindicated, and expect an apology from me.  (LOL) Nope.  Because both of these are hoaxes.  And I went and did a great deal of real sleuthing on this because it did seem awfully strong.

Here is what I found out.

The designer of the coin, Daniel Carr, has been designing “mock” coins for many years.  As well, ALL of the coins he strikes have the “D” (which Turner claims “proves” it was struck at the Denver mint) because Carr lives in...Denver (and the government does not have a “copyright” on the “D”.) Indeed, the “Amero” coin looks EXACTLY like the coins Carr has been creating for about five years.

As well, I checked his website on WHOIS and found that, contrary to Turner’s claim that it “went up in a couple of days,” Carr’s website was created in 2005; i.e., he was clearly selling mock coins (ALL of which have the “D") for AT LEAST two years on the website (and probably for a few years prior by other means).  Here are links to Carr’s site and bio:

http://www.designscomputed.com/coins/resume.html

As for the claimed North Carolina NAU (North American Union) drivers license, there is absolutely ZERO corroborating evidence on this claim.  As well, the writer of the article, Jerome Corsi, worked with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (not exactly known for their honesty...), and is under investigation by Media Matters for America (a left-center media watch group co-founded by Eric Alterman) for making anti-Islamic, anti-Catholic, anti-semitic and anti-homosexual comments on various forum threads.  Corsi has a horrible reputation as a journalist, having been accused of plagiarism and false authorship, among other things.

So I would not put too much stock in the two reports - despite how “serious” they sound.  At least not yet.

Peace.

Alex Jones interviews Dean Haglund

This is a fascinating interview for many reasons.

Three that jump out are:

1. The clip of a television drama written in 2000 and broadcast in 2001 (before 9/11) that described a government terror attack on the World Trade Center using a hijacked plane. The motivation: to increase arms sales.

Shot in March of 2000. Written in January of 2000.

2. The routine canceling of financially successful programs that are critical of the government

3. The CIA’s program of sending fake psychics to Hollywood parties to develop relationships with producers, directors and actors to see what projects they’re working on before they’re publicly announced.

“Changes in so-called progressive media direction and numerous MSM limited hangouts (books by Woodward, Lance, Drumheller, et al), point to this:  In DC. the 911 coup is an open secret. The scramble is on to rein in the madmen without blowing the coverup, exploding a constitutional crisis and precipitating a global financial meltdown, all of which is inevitable.

“But, now more than ever, putting on the pressure is critical. The madmen must be stopped before they start WWIII.

“Support 911Truth - End War of Terror
Investigae, indict, prosecute and execute!”

The problem with that is even if you do prosecute and execute “the madmen” the ruling oligarchy simply recruit a new lot practically overnight.  But Webre is on the right track when he says:

“...if the war criminal wants to work back in, and help restore, the environment, the community, that’s fine, and stop the [de]population and genocide, transform our energy priorities, transform the permanent war economy, to a space preservation treaty ... establishing sustainable economic development, our own economic institutions, so that we can achieve escape velocity, from the matrix,” there just might be some hope.

Sam:

We could play the “my sources vs. your sources” game from now until the cows come home (Mooooo!  LOL).

Instead, let me just make a two-part statement that covers what I really want to say here.

First, while “instinct” can certainly play a part, I repeat (again...LOL) that it should not replace good old-fashioned research.  When I research something, I look at a minimum of six or seven websites (or other sources) that deal with, or at least mention, the particular person, place, thing, claim, etc.; i.e., I cross-reference a number of sources - some neutral, some that support my view, some that do not.  (It actually does not take that long to do this, which is why I was able to determine so quickly that errors were made by Webre and Jones.) By using this method, I am usually able to get a good sense of where the “truth” (or at least the most likely truth) is.  Is it an infallible method?  Nope.  But it is a good one which generally leads to more “solid” conclusions, at least where “facts” (as opposed to “instinct") are concerned.

Second, re Webre et al, all I will say is this.  He - and others like Ickes, Jones et al - all have good and supportable claims to make and things to say. But when people who have legitimate - and sometimes important - claims to make and things to say ALSO make patently ridiculous claims (we are all actually reptiles; Britain controls the U.S.; Shimon Peres murdered a U.S. senator; etc.) and say things that are either demonstrably untrue or simply “over-reaching,” then their credibility suffers across the board, and it makes it that much harder to determine which of their more “solid” claims/statements are such WITHOUT doing some real gumshoe research.
