I guess global warming is really contributing to the loss of winter so to say. In parts of the world, winter is becoming shorter because warmer days come sooner than expected. I fear that in the future, winter sports like skiing and snowboarding will become a thing of the past.

In Maine the climate is so warm for winter that there has not been enough ice for the sport of ice fishing and that might also apply to other unually winter places.
