Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page. |

On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won’t understand
“Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others’ suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
The turning away”
. .
. No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It’s not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there’ll be
No more turning away?

The song from a couple of decades ago: “That’s the Night That the Lights Went Out in Georgia” never rang truer in my lifetime.

Wow their are so many things wrong with that statement but it does explain why no one is rising up against the system for change. Well if you don’t care about the innocent then maybe you should care about the guilty who go free who in turn hurt more inoccent poeple.

Why shouldn’t “the greatest nation on Earth” be allowed to kill whomever it
Report thiswishes? If it happens that some of them are innocent, and/or most of them are
black, who cares? Remember: America, right or wrong, is ALWAYS right!
