Airborne, I see the logic in your post. However, the
Report thiskids these days have a false sense of reality who do
not care if a gun is waved at them. Unfortunately too
many kids do not think that far in advance to realize
their life is really at stake.
As someone who is taking law classes I am finding out
that a reality here is that if someone is scared for
their life and does brandish a gun they might as well
kill them because they can be sued in court otherwise.
I agree with your comment when you say “draw unless
you intend to kill, don’t kill unless you are willing
to face murder charges.” But what happens when it is a
real act of self defense?
Thinking about it, we would all be better off video
taping incidents and allowing the police to decide who
was right and who is wrong. it is such a fine line
though and what is worse is that the media will not
get this one right and the details will probably never
be released with as much out cry as the hype has
gotten.

Once again folks, if you live in an area where you need to carry a loaded gun to feel safe, YOU NEED TO MOVE.

It isn’t necessary to go for a kill shot on the first round. Brandishing a weapon often suffices as a deterrent. A warning shot into the ground or air is the next sensible step. Next comes kneecapping or any other incapacitating wound. Shooting to kill is necessary in only the most extreme circumstance. Don’t draw unless you intend to kill, don’t kill unless you are willing to face murder charges.
