I love the US postal service. My dad, my aunt and a cousin by marriage all worked for the post office. My aunt worked for the post office for 30 years until she retired. She got her GED while working for the post office. I do mail art. When I was living in NOLA in the mid1960s, I knew I was still in the US because the mail trucks said, “US Mail”. I remember when the US mail trucks stopped writing US Mail on them. In the last decade.
The post office, at the top, is doing everything it can to kill the service…the Fed Ex boxes in post offices for one time payment, for example. Cutting hours in local branches. Killing it then claiming folks are using email more than the post office.
