Another poster says “This is supposed to art, but Fish
throws this together in twenty minutes to meet a deadline,
simply shows he hasn’t much talent.”
Well, it is not art. It is a cartoon. Political cartoon.
Report thisI don’t know how this person knows how long Fish takes to
create these cartoons..The fact that he is able to throw
them together to meet a deadline is proof he has talent.

It’s not about growing up or, as most end up doing, name-calling those who have an opinion, are left to do.
It is called maturity.
This is supposed to art, but Fish throws this together in twenty minutes to meet a deadline, simply shows he hasn’t much talent.
It does NOT evoke deep thought from the reader… nothing to discover nor think about, but hey, those who
You want to worship garbage, yes, it is your right… but it IS STILL a free country until they take the internet away… so I’m going to express my opinion and say this sucks!

While I don’t always agree with Fish, I enjoy his cartoons
Report this& he does make me pause. As for the children who are put
off by his considered use of profanity…I agree with a
previous poster…grow up!
If you are offended don’t look…if you don’t like
Fish…don’t look. Seems to me freedom of choice..but, I
forget, Repbugs and such want to control what others get
to see. Freedom according to the Repugs.

Big B, it shows lack of creativity.
It is easy to curse, to use explicit words as adjectives.
Just go around, anywhere in this world, and enter our favorite curse word where you’d normally use an adjective.
Is it the sensitivity of other people? Or just lack of an education?
And because of our discourse regarding his profanity, guess what will be fed on his upcoming cartoons? More profanity and tasteless non-humor.
Why? He panders to whatever will bring in more clicks, views, revenue, etc…
I’m sure he’s sitting back, behind the front of his various aliases on TD, saying “it’s working!”

I grow tired of peoples delicate sensabilities. It still amazes me how many supposed ADULTS out there in tv land cannot stomach the site of a “cuss” word in print. Try paying attention to the actual content and meaning of prose or a cartoon without poo-pooing it for(gasp) the use of vulgarity to get its point across.
Grow the fuck up, people! any one who is an adult and is still offended by someone using “off color” words needs to go back to sunday school, place you figers in your ears, and hum “oh come all ye faithful” (I still giggle when I hear that tune, for it’s “blue” conotation of course)
Mr Fish is a one panel cartoonist that manages to get his point across in that very difficult medium. He, and other cartoonists are occasionally offensive because they need to be. Look around our once great nation, if your not offended by our war mongering ways your not paying attention.

I guess to placate those offended by a cartoonist, we should
put steve jobs in charge of all blogging, surely he would be the
fair, honest person that would make Truthdig appropriate for
everybody’s children. He certainly would not be anything like
is twin brother bill gates.
In the meantime mr. fish, keep up the good work!

NapoleanDoneHisPart, “Obscene doesn’t even begin to define Mr. Fish’s demeanor.
He, like a six year old, needs attention for his lack of talent, taste and tact…”
I could not have worded it better.
Report thisTruthDig, why don’t you remove this cartoonist from your blog site. When has Mr.
Fish ever been funny or relevant? He is incredibly offensive and certainly out of
character for TruthDig’s thoughtful articles and impressive comment sections.
Fish does not measure up.

EJH, are you actually Mr. Fish in disguise?
A genius?
In the same category as Hendrix?
Go ahead and sift through garbage to find something worth salvaging, which is what you are citing is Fish’s work… and that’s something I can agree with you on.

I gues it refers to this:
Steve Jobs attends iPad 2 unveiling; new device comes in white
had to search it up - only took a minute - remember when it would take a day - thanks to
Jobs and friends, it only takes a minute
now, as for the cartoon - it’s brilliant - my take: we thought we had seen it all, vis-à-vis
posting your life to the world, no matter how insignificant it might be
forget it - this device proposes everyone, everywhere, foolish enough to think everyone else
cares, can literally post every second of their entire life for now and forever
Andy Warhol’s ‘15 seconds…’ has suddenly become ‘eternity’ - yeah, Jobs ‘fucked up’
now he’ll have to carry the ‘chip’ into the cauldron with him, just like T2 - ‘hasta la vista,
Report thisbaby’... with Charlie Sheen directing

Got bandwidth? How the hell do we actually have that much to say to each other? How long before the Supreme Court declares computers to be citizens? Will there ever be a Digital Party? Will Hal Tron be President in 2412? Will computers kill off the human race to protect the world and computers from destructive human behavior? Should we even give a jigafuck?

Have you critics of Mr. Fish ever heard Beethoven’s
Report thisSymphony No. 9B? I haven’t either but I heard it was
awful. Fortunately for Ol’ Ludwig, he didn’t have to
practice in public, so he got to toss that one before
anyone heard it. Mr. Fish, on the other hand, has to
publish several cartoons a week. Not all of them are
good. Some of them are pretty bad. But, not
infrequently, he comes up with a cartoon that is pure
genius (see his 2010 Memorial Day cartoon, for
example). I, for one, am willing to sift through
some of Mr. Fish’s lesser work because I know that
every once in a while (actually more often than
that), his genius will shine through. Instead of
ripping Mr. Fish, why not appreciate him while you
have the chance. Geniuses like Fish and Hendrix and
Van Gogh tend to die young.

Obscene doesn’t even begin to define Mr. Fish’s demeanor.
He, like a six year old, needs attention for his lack of talent, taste and tact.
So he must use curse words and poor judgment in his attempt to entertain / keep his day job.
