Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. For four years George W. Bush was given the benefit of the doubt about his presidential decisions. During the run-up to the Iraq War, people expressed a few doubts, but in general, it was assumed that he knew what he was doing. We all know how that turned out. Now President Obama receives the fallout from that. Every single thing he does receives inordinate criticism. I daresay Cheney would love to comment on how President Obama ties his own shoes. Does Cheney even remember that many of his so-called ideas turned out badly? It is intensely unpatriotic for Cheney to use his old position as Vice President to run down our current president. He has no room to talk, since many of his decisions were so very flawed. I think it is important for Americans to remember, “United we stand; divided we fall.”
