Eventually they would want us to join in their world willingly. But if not, then to be scared of them, and to be quiet and mindful of their ever watching eyes and ears. Keeping us weak and busy and either joining the military as a last employment resort or just giving up on a political system that has made unfairness systemic and vast amounts of money a necessity in order to be given a chance to decide between two evils they gave us in the first place.

As a Disable Vietnam Veteran,I have nothing but respect for Mr.Bradford Manning. He is a true American HERO in my book.I would gladly trade him places for standing up to the Powers that Be.

President Obama has carried on the authoritarian means and methods established by the Reagan regime. It all seems to be just minor variations of minded Democrats and Republicans but with the general ideas being carried forth of dominate corporate Capitalism (defended and supported by the tax payer)encroaching theocracy and draconianisms coming at a slow but relentless creep. Had they been implemented all at once over one year than over 30 years we would think a coup had taken place. It is one, just slow but steady wins the race to crush the Republic.

Two haiku, the first written a few months ago for PFC Manning (it was delivered
to him by his lawyer and spammed widely on the web), the 2nd posted around
the town where I live as an haiku card with a line drawing of Old Glory to go
along with the poem—

stripped naked—
the prisoner in his cell
as Spring begins

. . .

4th of July—
the dog under the bed
bares its teeth

I’m not a fan of this holiday and all those bombs bursting in air. “Indetention
Day” is apt. Thank you, Mr Fish.

Today we hear also that Leonard Peltier, elderly and in ill health, has been
tossed in the hole, no word on why and really none needed. He deserves
freedom. I can think of several politicians including former and present White
House residents, who could take his place, were freedom and justice truly
honored in this nation.

debolt, THAT is the true hero ( Manning ), not the obedient minions ( although I dare say most haven’t the faintest idea ).

Well said.

To My Fellow Amerikans:

On Monday when you are slathering on the sunscreen (A & B), chomping into your third hot dog and opening your second beer, pause and remember for a moment the man who is making it all possible.  He is one of our soldiers, a man, who in the service of his country, is facing violence, torture and even the sacrifice of his own life for the sake of the freedoms we so casually enjoy.  His name is Private, Bradley Manning and he, unlike the cowardly legions of our Obama Nation, is standing alone in his solitary cell on this holiday, fighting to keep us all safe and free.

With Peace, Love & Rage,

Bob Boldt

Sadly, by the time Manning sees a day in the devil’s court, he may not even remember his own name.

It should be obvious, considering the looming state bankruptcy, that one way or the other there will be a serious change of direction in the USA.
People should start telling their officials that this is not going to be like the ‘70’s when it was enough just to end the ‘Nam war.
I for one will leave no stone unturned in prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law the war criminals and those who abuse the criminal or military justice system for political purposes.  And this includes those responsible for the cruelty done to Bradley Manning.
I beg others to join in this effort.

Mr Fish and All

If you have a compelling story about the Minnesota State Government Shut Down but have problems getting that story out on progressive blogs (including those which refuse to even allow you to post comments) than can you advise me on a good way to get the story out?

Deadly serious question.
