oddsox—in the cartoon, the Republicans branded themselves, and I think that’s a pretty accurate picture of what happened.  It had very little to do with the Democrats.

The Republicans can’t go around talking about abolishing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without people thereby drawing the conclusion that they intend to abolish Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and translating the term ‘vouchers’ accordingly.

Republicans really thought they had the American Populace snowed,
but apparently not as well as they thought and hopefully it will grow.

funny cartoon & accurate in that some (many? most?)on the Left are trying to brand Republicans as Medicare killers when they call for reform.

In much the same sense, some (many? most?)on the Right brand Democrats as job-killers when they call for reform on Wall Street.
