Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. oddsox—in the cartoon, the Republicans branded themselves, and I think that’s a pretty accurate picture of what happened. It had very little to do with the Democrats.
The Republicans can’t go around talking about abolishing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without people thereby drawing the conclusion that they intend to abolish Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and translating the term ‘vouchers’ accordingly.

funny cartoon & accurate in that some (many? most?)on the Left are trying to brand Republicans as Medicare killers when they call for reform.
In much the same sense, some (many? most?)on the Right brand Democrats as job-killers when they call for reform on Wall Street.
