I read the cartoon differently. What I saw was merely a blip in the domino theory
concerning middle eastern dictatorships. The blip and short term prop was
caused by U.S./europeans wanting the oil. I saw nothing that indicated it was a
pro-dictatorship cartoon.

Oh goody, now Truthdig publishes a pro-dictatorship
cartoon. Other than Hedges and Mr. Fish, I sometimes
wonder if Truthdig isn’t run by a secret right-wing
conspiracy intent on making the left look foolish and
inept.
