New and Improved Comments

We are launching a major overhaul of our comments section.

In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread.

Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts.

Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with.

Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page.

BP workers don’t get $500/day, only $10/hr. and 12 hr. days and apparently they are all sick from the oil, just like the wild life, because they had no protective covering provided by BP.

BP isn’t acting any differently than any other
oil company…

We are as guilty as BP for what is happening
We all know that we kill for oil
destroy any thing in the path for oil,

yet, the sale of oil goes on with little in fluctuation
in the use.

maybe now you will all know how the Iraqi’ feel, and
the Nigerians, and the Ecuador, and on and on and on

I understand BP will pay workers $500/day to gather up oil on the Gulf Coast, but I wonder, is it possible for workers to keep up with the ONE MILLION GALLONS of oil steadily gushing out of the broken well, that still hasn’t been repaired?
