But LBJ was “gung ho” as we used to say in Bklyn in the 1950s, for more war in Vietnam. Sepharad,
Have you read Robert Caro’s bios of LBJ, the 2nd volume, “Master of the Senate”? It’s a beauty.
If that is LBJ, maybe he doesn’t belong there. Doesn’t anyone remember that he pushed through the Voting Rights Act (without which all the voter registration activity would have quietly foundered)?
Not to mention trying to bring back what FDR intended and the Repugs derailed by the Great Society program?
Shepard, thanks for the heads up on the Robinson article, I had not read it. In new light, the cartoon may be more of a feeling than reality, for politics seems a messy program, Obama has many balls to juggle and the Military complex is a heavy one.
Virginia77, finding the cartoon offensive is your choice, not mine, it provokes thought and discussion, which seems the intent.
Sentiments waffling in me hart. Mr. Fish’s message seems true more than it doesn’t, well it will all come out in the wash, and if we are lucky will prove me wrong again!

Another good one. I know what Mr. Fish is saying, but I’m not sure I know who is pictured. But here’s a guess—MacNamara (sp?), LBJ and ...Ronald Reagan?

Leefeller: I don’t wonder at all about how the Wingnuts would find this,
they would love it.

Democrats make the best Republican presidents. Obama is the new Clinton. Heaven help us all, he is just getting started!

This should be syndicated to Free Republic. I find it offensive.
