YUUUK !!!!!! Too many of you [TruthDig “insiders} seem to be fueding over what
Mr. Fish seems to be expressing….
Whatever Mr. Fish is expressing, some of you seem to be far more fixated with
discrediting each other than with actually teasing out the [his] INTENDED
meaning or message….
As someone who occasionally visit here…...the urgent acrimony detracts from
the experience. The commentary would be better without the personal
I think Mr Fish is one of the best of the best, if not the best….. His messages
are how he see’z it….
I remember a cartoon of a political figure with his head up his anus….. Was it
Bush?? I don’t remember….but after a few hours of being up, suddenly it was
gone…... As I remember it was a Mr Fish cartoon….. How would this fit into
what appears to be acrimony in the comments section…....
The main reason I come to Truthdig is to view the cartoons…... I also go to the
News of Pakistan to see Zahoor cartoons…...and to the Times of Pakistan for
their cartoons too….
Keep up the good [cartoon] werk here….You are a beacon of ‘out of the box”

Emphasis is not quotes; if I attribute a quote to you, I will let you know; I am not responsible for your weak-minded assumptions and do not feel the need to respond to foolishness. If all you can do is obfuscate without responding to my post, there is no point in my responding to your foolishness. Get a clue and, at least, try to make it appear that you are engaged in something more than sophist propaganda and obfuscation——at the current level of your sophism your revenue stream from the Right is bound to be in danger——no one, not even the Right wants to be associated with a fool.

MarthaA said this this to me: YOU support “socialized responsibility for privatized benefit”
I responded, “Since you put that in quotes, please tell the truth right away and admit that you arent quoting me.”
MarthaA answers: The TRILLIONS of dollars spent by Bush II… and follows it up with a link
What does that have to do with how you quoted me about something I never said? You are just going to lie right in front of everyone?
Why can’t you be honest and just admit you did the wrong thing?
You have been exposed yet again as a liar even in this petty little thing, which anyone can read just by scrolling down. If you lie about petty little things that can be easily checked, surely you lie about important things as well.
For the sake of your ‘objectivity’ you would lie about anything, wouldnt you? Yes I percieve you would. And somehow you think that truth is served by lying? Yes, you have done this several times and you never repent, you never make it right.
Why ANYONE would take you seriously and click on your link for even more of your ravings is beyond me.

a stupid, useless cartoon.

The TRILLIONS of dollars spent by Bush II, the Federal Reserve and President Obama is “socialized responsibility for privatized benefit,” surely you are smart enough to understand that; explain how that is not Communism for the Capitalists at the expense of the socialistic resources of the nation, if you can.
I have posted a new model for “Free Enterprise Capitalism” on Financial Meltdown 101 at http://www.truthdig.com/dig/item/20081108_financial_meltdown_101/

Mr. Fish seems to be saying that people who support a black president just because he’s black are essentially as “racist” as people who do not support him for the very same reason.
I personally do think race plays a factor in this discussion, but more so in terms of people’s racism towards illegal immigrants, particularly Mexicans. I don’t dispute Pres. Carter’s notion that there are those who unfairly judge Pres. Obama on some level because of the color of his skin, but I think that’s the lesser issue here.

MarthaA says this to me: YOU support “socialized responsibility for privatized benefit”
Since you put that in quotes, please tell the truth right away and admit that you arent quoting me. I never said that nor do i believe it. So you are lying. The rest of your post wallows in subjectivity and doesnt deserve analysis. You are slipping, comrade MarthaA.

YOU support “socialized responsibility for privatized benefit”; this means that YOU support Communistic Capitalism. What is it with you, “a devout God fearing Communist” accusing, condemning and denouncing me as a “Leftist”? Why on earth as a devout God fearing Communist are YOU criticizing the Left? Do you not know what side you bread is buttered on——or, what?

I don’t think so Dave, Mr. Fish’s political cartoons are not as open to
interpretation as you think. There is almost always a specific, unambiguous
message in mind. This is true of most political cartoons, which is very different
from other forms of art, but especially of Mr. Fish who certainly has some very
strong beliefs. If you follow his other cartoons, it’s quite easy to decipher his

Political cartoons are often pointed; but like all art, they can be interpreted an
infinite amount of ways. Some interpretations are better than others, but even
that is subject to opinion, much like the cartoons themselves. It makes me laugh
when people describe what the author “is” saying. Art lays the groundwork for
myriad implications—it doesn’t necessarily speak a single truth.
If you see “right-wing nut,” then it’s there. If you don’t, it isn’t.
That’s the point. It often reveals more about the observer than it does the artist.

Let me just say, Mr. Fish is an honest and intelligent progressive. Probably the
most progressive guy on this site. Anyone who has followed his work would know

Jesus Christ, I am sometimes at a loss for words at how many of Mr. Fish’s
cartoons just fly over people’s heads. Just because he is criticizing the Dems, does
not make him a “right wingnut.” What Mr. Fish satirizes in his cartoons is faux-
liberalism. Both Dems and Repubs are working together to enrich corporate
America, but they both have different roles to play.
Ozark, what Mr. Fish is really trying to underline is that many Dems fail to
understand that Obama is a right-wing president.

Of course you are happy with this type of cartoon, you are a Right-Wing Conservative EXTREMIST Republican, but repulsive is an understatement of what I think about this cartoon. I do not like any of Mr. Fish’s cartoons, but normally I don’t comment, but this one was so repugnant that I had to comment.
By OzarkMichael, September 17, 2009 at 7:06 pm Link to this comment
MarthaA, ThatDeborahGirl, and the rest of the Truthdiggers, you need to understand that Mr Fish is using some irony. Fish is chiding the Democrats for not supporting Obama’s policies. Get it?
Well, i know MarthaA wont get it, she will accuse me of being subjective and defending the “Hitleresque”, Mr Fish. Followed by her usual call to shoot me till I now longer wiggle.(that marthaA is a bit bloodthirsty)
But I will speak the truth just the same, even when it is to defend someone I disagree with.
By OzarkMichael, September 17, 2009 at 4:56 pm Link to this comment
Martha starts her post against the cartoon with: All of this Hitleresque subjective propaganda ....
In another post she proclaimed her remedy to pass laws making any dissent against the Left a crime, so that we can give those who practice Hitler’s type of sophism a fair trial and then either imprison them or take them out and shoot them til they no longer wiggle.
Poor cartoonist Mr Fish didnt follow the Leftist line just this one time, and so he is “Hitleresque”, which means he is on comrade Martha’s list of criminals who need to be imprisoned and shot. Once the laws are passed to outlaw dissent, the shooting is legal. That is the bloody fruit of MarthaA’s wonderful ‘objectivity’.
Deep down, the Leftists seem to hate free speech. At least comrade MarthaA does.

You are absolutely right, Mr Fish. Some love him because he is black, some because he is a Dem, some because he is in authority, and some becaues he might do them persnally some good.
For the American people his policies are a mitigated disaster. The Bushites have intiated a fundamental transformation of the US bourgeois democracy and Obama is completing it. Endless war abroad and a neoliberal police state at home.

Mr. Fish- there are days when you so far miss the mark as to make me ill.
This is one of those days.
With cartoons like these why not simply ply your pen for a right wingnut blog? Then again, TruthDig may be the right place for you with headlines like these:
All U.S. Presidents Need a War to Call Their Own—and Obama Has His
Obama’s Presidency Isn’t Too Big to Fail
Stop Begging Obama and Get Mad

All of this Hitleresque subjective propaganda is because of Socialized Wall Street, Socialized Business, Socialized Insurance, Socialized Banking and Socialized Industry for Privatized Profit, PRIVATIZED BENEFIT, which SHOULD be talked about because it is an OBJECTIVE FACT that the communal resources of the entire nation have been committed to pay for Socialized Wall Street, Social Business, Socialized Insurance, Socialized Banking and Socialized Industry for generations, instead of subjectively misrepresenting what President Carter said.

What about the fact that any criticism of Israel is readily dismissed as “anti-Semitic” and therefore Israel can do anything, no matter how outrageous, with impunity? Negating all criticism guarantees that there will be no change for the better. Racism is a shill game where even the house itself loses.
