im with purple girl on this one, no matter who orchestrated these twitterings it still clearly shows that a large population within Iran want change and that cant be ignored no matter how much the ayatollah tries. Twittering, real time search and mobile broadband is the communication method of the future and it will continue to allow people to voice their thoughts and fight injustices across the globe.
Twitter has also been the foil of many Repugs too.
These idiots on the Right are so intellectually challenged that they failed to realize their ‘Tweets’ were accessible to the nation!
God Bless the Internet (and Texting)- let Freedom (and information) Reign!
The article is hardly “scapegoating” Israel, the writer does a serious investigation into the Twitter situation in Iran and comes back with the facts (something I know you aren’t always fond of):
“Were these legitimate Iranian people…? I became curious and decided to investigate the origins of the information. In doing so, I narrowed it down to a handful of people who have accounted for 30,000 Iran related tweets in the past few days. Each of them had some striking similarities -
1. They each created their twitter accounts on Saturday June 13th.
2. Each had extremely high number of Tweets since creating their profiles.
3. “IranElection” was each of their most popular keyword
4. With some very small exceptions, each were posting in ENGLISH.
5. Half of them had the exact same profile photo
6. Each had thousands of followers, with only a few friends. Most of their friends were EACH OTHER.
Why were these tweets in English? Why were all of these profiles OBSESSED with Iran? It became obvious that this was the work of a team of people with an interest in destabilizing Iran…created with the sole intention of destabilizing Iran and effecting public opinion as to the legitimacy of Iran’s election.
I narrowed the spammers down to three of the most persistent - @StopAhmadi @IranRiggedElect @Change_For_Iran
I decided to do a google search for 2 of the 3 - @StopAhmadi and @IranRiggedElect. The first page to come up was JPost (Jerusalem Post) which is a right wing newspaper pro-Israeli newspaper.
JPost actually ran a story about 3 people “who joined the social network mere hours ago have already amassed thousands of followers.” Why would a news organization post a story about 3 people who JUST JOINED TWITTER hours earlier? Is that newsworthy? JPost was the first (and only to my knowledge) major news source that mentioned these 3 spammers.”
Whatever. Your fixation on Zionist intrigues (real or imagined) makes no difference to me; I do find it curious how those with viewpoints like yours twist themselves in pretzel knots to avoid supporting the people of Iran overtly, as they face down the brutal murderous regime tyrannizing their country. Today the Basij are again shooting at unarmed crowds. But you express your outrage not at that but at irrelevant cartoons and through conspiracy theories.

I wonder what percentage of Iranians twitter (the same percentage of birds that are swallows?).
I seem to recall another upheaval (revolution being too strong a world) of semi-people power where those with mobile phones won out against those without mobile phones. That was in the Philippines.
Nothing like that in Iran, of course: perish the twittering thought!
ELECTION of Iran was FRAUD and Ahamdinejad rigged the votes…
PLEASE let the world know that Ahmadinehad RIGGED the votes and no longer he is the president of IRAN.
The Holocaust denier makes another Holocaust in his own country!
do you need glasses?? Look at the way their noses and faces are drawn, not to mention, this Twitter-story, is just that!
You are not answering my question: What is inherently racist? Because the artist exaggerated their facial features? It’s called caricature - from Wikipedia: “A caricature can refer to a portrait that exaggerates or distorts a person or thing to create an easily identifiable visual likeness.”” So they have big ears and noses? Iranian citizens are being murdered by the very regime the subjects of this cartoon run, and you harp on this?
===================
The old standby scapegoating of the Jews one more time. Pathetic. Iranian citizens are marching by the millions to shake off the repression of their own dictatorial fundamentalist theocratic regime and all you can do is cry “racism” and blame Jews for political instability in Iran? Looney tunes.
So what’s racist about this cartoon? You bat that word around so indiscriminately it has lost all meaning, just as fascist has in the dark, dank corners of the extreme Left such as this.

The cartoons are known as political satire. Maybe we should have a cartoon of the almighty Allah. That would sure stir the pot.
