GM debacle could have been avoided if the electric car project under then GM CEO, 1988 was undertaken with seriousness. The idea ahead of its time was killed by self interest or by interest groups.
Now, the new GM as seen by competitors, Japan in particular and other carmakers in general, looks just a toy Hummer! Pathetic but it is real.
