Gulam—I remember LBJ. He created great emotional dissonance in some of us by escalating the war in Vietnam yet insisting on passage of the Voting Rights Act (without which all the hard gains of those voter registration years would have been nibbled away into nothing). At least, when he saw the horrible consequences of that war he had the grace to say he could no longer lead and would therefore not run for another term. Compare that to Dick Cheney’s unbelievable arrogance in continuing to say the Iraq war was a good idea.

Though Obama wasn’t my first choice I voted for him (McCain/Palin was not an acceptable outcome) with some reservation, but even so Fish’s cartoon shows it like it’s becoming and it breaks my heart. The only good thing I can say for Obama these days is that Cheney thinks he is endangering America so he must be doing something right of which I’m not yet aware.

The most telling story will be the one told by Obama’s inaction to hold any of the Bush regime accountable for their crimes. There will be no STUFFED NEO-CONS coming off Obama’s watch.
Sad but true. We will recieve no justice for the murderous plundering by the Bush gang.

Like “tres”’ comment, I was thinking about the Emperor’s New Clothes since the announcement of the “new” Afghanistan, now Af-Pak policy.  Mr. Fish’s cartoon is “on target”.

Great one, as always.

I support Obama too, but I am glad someone like Mr. Fish calling the Emperor’s New Cloth as it is.

Brilliant again, Mr. Fish.

I wish it weren’t true, but it is.

Like children, we don’t want to be told there is no Santa Claus.  Obama is our savior inside the self-referential American hologram which cannot conceive of itself as other than benevolent, only sometimes mistaken but with the best of intentions.  Obama, as CIC, is legally responsible for the escalation of the Af-Pak invasion, which is a kind of test bed for the new drone war techniques being honed for imperial dominance.  He could end it with executive order.  The collateral damage from drone-delivered misselry includes the usual innocents.  No, there is no Santa Claus, and the phrase “war criminal” can no longer belong to only Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld, but now is owned by Obama himself.

HELP US - STUFF A NEOCON TODAY

MAGIC MUSHROOMS. ER, SKYSCRAPERS

> Anyone silly enough to believe that they are really going to get a real change probably is gullible enough to believe that three skyscrapers can fall perfectly into their own footprints after two of them were struck by airplanes.

Of course they fall into to their own footprints. Its an old Mossad trick that they have spent years perfecting on Palestinians in Gaza and and Beirut. What else? Who do you think those ‘maintenance guys’ admitted to do ‘weekend work’ two weeks before 9/11 were? ‘Weekend work;’ pull the other one. It has bells on it.

And if that is not enough, there is Danny Jowenko - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3DRhwRN06I

FISH

BUT Fish is _still_ wrong about Obama, who is _still_ the people’s best hope. At present. A million people have said it; the people have to _move_ Obama to carry out the programs _they_ want. No movement, no results. Guillotine and pitchfork jokes on the internet don’t count. Though they do seem to worry some nervous Nellies in a very gratifying way.

STUFF A NEOCON TODAY

The Neocons created these crises for ideological, financial and political gains. Let us do everything possible to move Obama and see that the Neocons get properly stuffed. And help US.

Naomi Klein - http://www.naomiklein.org/shock-doctrine

A huge national debt, deliberate war, financial crimes, financial crises, a fraudulent bailout and fears of a repeat of 1920’s Germany, with a financial collapse followed by the rise of a police state. 2009? No, it was a CIA man describing George H.W. Bush and the New World Order, in 1991.

Meet the 2009 New World Order Playbook. Same as the old New World Order Playbook.

Yes. The millions of true Obama believers must be those too young to remember Lyndon and Hubert. Obama is already expanding the war into Pakistan just like the Democrats started bombing Laos and Cambodia. The Democrats and Republicans are a tag-team duo beating up on third world countries one after another. Anyone silly enough to believe that they are really going to get a real change probably is gullible enough to believe that three skyscrapers can fall perfectly into their own footprints after two of them were struck by airplanes. Believing the American dream requires leaps of faith that go beyond that required by any religion.

Fish is still not paying attention. Obama will spend his _entire_four_ year_term_ repairing the damage wrought by the Neocon sociopaths. He is _still_ very unlikely to make it worse than they managed all on their own.

Just because he is the figurehead in the Oval Office does not mean that he created, nor is he to blame for all the Neocon catastrophes that he inherited.

He is a figurehead and he will do better than any other possible choice. McInsane? Bush 3? Cheney continued? Palin one-heart-beat-from-power. I rest my case.

Mr. Fish can really be the both the best and the worst of the reigning cartoonists, depending on the day. This one is a classic, almost in the league with Liberal Phil and the Waterfall of Blood.
