Advertisement New and Improved CommentsWe are launching a major overhaul of our comments section. In addition to more robust spam filtering and moderation, new features include the ability to rate other comments, sort how they are displayed and respond directly via e-mail or in a thread. Unfortunately, commenters will lose their existing Truthdig identities. It's a pain, we know, but on the plus side you will now be able to log in with a plethora of options, including Google, Twitter, Facebook and Disqus accounts. Before launching this system we spent months in discussion with our top commenters. We listened to the feedback and we hope you like what we've come up with. Please direct any problems or concerns to us via our contact page. |

Judging by how high that ship is riding in the water, the bankers and auto execs are hijacking a tanker that’s empty. They can’t even get piracy right!

Yes, exactly, godistwaddle. And furthermore, the oil itself is stolen from the earth (and from the wealth that should be shared by the nation it is extracted from) by extremely rich scumbags who are intent on destroying the planet and killing us all in order to keep their profits soaring. More oil ships should be stolen, and exxon-valdez, BP and the other rackets should be run out of buisness so we can finally use the proven, ready technologies of wind, solar, tidal, and geothermal energy to power our green planet.

Somalian pirates, former fishermen thrown out of work, are the souls of integrity compared to most of the rich in the West. As G. K. Chesterton observed, “The rich are the scum of the earth in every country.”

Reminds me of the “unprovoked” attacks by American Indians who’s land and game was taken from them.
If you plan to strip a people of their natural resources, you’ed better also practice some genocide on the evil doer renegades.

Many a truth is said in jest——not all thieves use a gun and grenade launcher. Some use a pen and ledgerbook!
