Hippy Pam, while I agree with you on the part of the mortgage companies providing easy credit to lure home buyers, it’s not that they held a gun to people’s heads and forced them to buy.
Many people have been swept up in the “reno craze”, TV shows that promoted the spending of tens of thousands of dollars on renovating homes. With access to easy credit, people bought homes they really could not afford and then did renovations they could not afford.
Caveat emptor.

All Those Mortgage Companies That Floated “low interest-we can get a home for you NOW-no matter WHO you are or HOW MUCH MONEY you have or WHERE it will come from”-as well as the JOB SITUATION and the JOBLESS SITUATION-as well as FUNDING “BULLSH*T’s” bullshit-as well as RISING PRICES for NECESSITIES-as well as NO HEALTH CARE[along with a hospital/doctor situation that is criminal]-WHAT DID WE EXPECT TO HAPPEN???WE DID NOT PUT A STOP TO THESE PRACTICES BEFORE THEY GOT ROLLING…We just drove our SUVs-Bought our Waverunners-Gave our kids a day at the SPA-while THOSE WE VOTED IN TO POWER-LOOTED THE TREASURY…try these people in court for their crimes!!!!
