Okay, we know China’s oil consumption is approaching that of California. But has anyone calculated how much oil we’ll save by ending this fruitless war? Hey, someone did!

According to the Pentagons Defense Energy Support, Operation Iraqi Freedom consumes just over 3 million gallons of IMPORTED fuel per day (about 15% of the United State’s usual daily consumption or close to 4% of the world’s daily consumpton).
...the U.S. Military Academy estimated that delivering one gallon of fuel to U.S. soldiers in Iraq cost American taxpayers $42and that didnt include the cost of the fuel itself. At that rate, each U.S. soldier in Iraq is costing $840 per day in fuel delivery costs…
