If our constitution is a recipe for making a good, workable nation, then follow it.  If it isn’t, then change it.  Where’s the mystery and where, for Fred’s sake, is the legislative, judicial and enforcement part of our good government?

We have to get out of the past and into the present so we can get ready for the future.  This is not rocket science.

Impeach Cheney and Bush.

“next to of course god america i
love you land of the pilgrims’ and so forth oh
say can you see by the dawn’s early my
country ‘tis of centuries come and go
and are no more what of it we should worry
in every language even deafanddumb
thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry
by jingo by gee by gosh by gum
why talk of beauty what could be more beaut-
iful than these heroic dead
who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter
they did not stop to think they died instead
then shall the voice of liberty be mute?”

He spoke. and drank rapidly a glass of water

For the last few years, I have worn all black on “Independence Day.” It has become for me a time of mourning for all that this country has lost.

Maybe, someday, the rest of the world will have its own Independence Day when they can celebrate the throwing off of the tyranny of the United States. Call me an optimist.
