I’ll skip the socio Economics this one- Plenty of examples to complain about & analyize elsewhere.
Report thisI’m Referring to th eHorse Industry on this One. A subject near & dear to my Heart (and pocket book).
FIRST YEAH BIG BROWN!!!!!
What a magnificant beast- what heart , what stamina what an awesome athelete and Character.that is the dream of all honest breeders- HEART AND ENTHUSIASUM.
THAT is a horse who loves his job- he loves to run and anyone who works with horses saw it- makes you heart sing and your skin tingle. Love a Happy Horse, and congrads to the owners- He’s Proud of himself too.
BUT We as Horse “people’ must refocus on goals and priorities Heres some way to improve the Industry
Vet Certified Breeding Evaluations and Licenses for stock- re register every year w/ cert
Breeder License for People proving they know what is required in Breeding animals.Again Vet Cert for license, renew every year.
Both initial licenses at a Few hundred dollar cost- renewals at a nominal cost
Before any event all animals and people must be VET evaluated and determined fit for that competiton (allowing less well conformed to compete in less stressful events- walk trot class, owner/ amatuer levels a bit more Forgiving in Confromation, but Racing,Endurace , Jumping,Park.. must meet Conformation standards to compete)
Appropriate age requirements for variou s breeds and Use - Start TB racers at 4. Jumping 5.. Match the breed the horse & the ‘Job’ for compatiblity.
Strengthen neglect & abuse laws in regards to equine- Require Vets to be more active in reporting mismangement or cruelty- Just like Kids, anyone who is in direct supervion or care of that child is required to report any SUSPECIONS.However we must focus on Education, most peoples hearts are in the Right place- but they have NO idea what they ae doing. If malice or intent can be proven Hit them harder- fines, Prison,Banned from breeding/ competion/ Business/ Ownership
A personal note to breeders of all species- allows Focus on your responsiblity to maintain or enhance the breed for it’s own sake! No for your own gains- you are working against you own interests and Your Clients too.
Trainers must also honestly evaluate these horses for ability, appropriateness and willingness.
Farm Owners MUST Invest in their workers. Not just to provide a living, but also safety, knowledge, experience, mental ‘Co ownership’,RESPECT for their Dedication, hard work and THEIR HEART.this is NOT an industry for the lazy , the ignorant, the self absorbed, mentally & emotionally disconnected, abusive, fearful,OR discompassionately GREEDY!So your pickin’s is limited. Thank the HARD WOKING, SORE BRUISED TIRED DEDICATED,FOR THEIR UNWAVERING COMMITMENT THEY HAVE MADE TO THESE CREATORS- and ultimatley YOU!So pay them well, treat them well, recognize and accept when they are ‘Out of Sorts’ and realize you owe them at least as much as you do the Horse. Example- Jockey’s - Let them have a F*cking cookie, they have far less a reason to act like fashion Models, then fashion models should. You’re Killing them TOO!
A start..
As For the analogy of the Presidential Race-
Run Baby Run, don’t Hold Back you are in the final stretch and you’ve barely dropped your head or broke a sweat!A Cake Walk to the finish- enjoy the run and show them what YOU got and how much you have to spare long after the race is over!Go Obama Go!!!
