There use to be a time when people took the trains from the east to the west, musicians would travel on trains and some people still don’t like planes, I think planes have their place, but the travel is uncomfortable, the decent makes the ears pop, old people cannot move around, of course when they served food, the isles were with the carts, now if you want a window seat you pay extra, so being in the middle row is a hassle, makes it easier to spill things like coffee, etc.

I think the congress should help AMTRAK get their own tracks, then there would be less of a layover in Chicago or Los Angles, and it is not hard to sleep on a train, even in the coach dept. because for one thing you can have coffee almost any time you want it and you can walk around, and there is also some scenery, now if people would just realize how much it costs to get an airplace up in the air and probably the train can go to the east coast and back and maybe even more than times than one plane trip.

Also taking along your own shopping bag would keep the plastic bags out of the trees, etc. etc.

All as a result of diverting $$$ into oil corporations’ pockets by invading IRAQ!

But how many Americans give a damn yet about anyone outside their own country, let alone the Iraqis?

A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was canceled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran.... http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/babylonbeyond/2008/05/ iraq-the-elusiv.html

US confession: Weapons were not made in Iran after all http://www.campaigniran.org/casmii/index.php?q=node/4886

Number Of Iraqis Slaughtered In US War And Occupation Of Iraq 1,206,950

Number of U.S. Military Personnel Sacrificed (Officially acknowledged) In U.S. War And Occupation Of Iraq 4,077

Cost of U.S. War and Occupation of Iraq $519,573,949,669

Remember the Montgomery boycott which finally broke the bus company?

I can’t think of a single more effective way to express our concern and outrage for where things are in this country than by a general strike or a boycott.  Either or both would hit them where they’d feel it.

Mostly good will come from this.

Less oil consumption, less driving, lower highway death rate, more energy efficient autos, few $$ going overseas, the list goes on.

We weren’t ready for this.  Shame on us.  Now, we recover from the shock, pick up the pieces and plan for a life in which we will not allow Wall Street, Madison Ave. and our beloved congress to control our lives.  We allowed ourselves to be sucked into consumerism and now, we have to pay the price.

Teach your kids about this.  This is the beginning of the end of a way of life soon to disappear altogether.  This oil thing will only worsen.  We have to wean ourselves from oil.  Our corporate mouthpiece government will never take that initiative.  We have to do it ourselves.

The good folks of Myanmar can’t depend on their corrupt military gov. to help them, either.  Rank and file citizens all over the world are in the same boat, one that has sunken altogether, as in Myanmar, or the one in the US that is beginning to sink.  The two governments, as far as I can tell, are pretty much the same when it comes to caring for its citizens.

The MSM is nothing more than a Hypnotic mind numbing Corp TOOL!
Most of US are dying (literally & figuratively) for real information, real investigation, real Action and A real Voice.
I’ve seen a few media people step close to the edge of what their job really entails- but quickly step back. Only the ‘Catholic whore’ Hagee thought - no the ‘Armegeddon’ ‘Pre-emptive stike Iran’ stratedgy for HIS ‘End of Days’scenario, Maddow did squeak out ‘national Security issue’. Olbermann only spends about 2 minutes on the Bush Admin Crimes, spent more time on discussing the latest Brittney fiasco. It appears they wan tto say more, investigate more ,Explain More- but are being held back. Are they under threat of imprisonment for ‘UnAmerican’ activities? Or are they just concerned they’ll be kick off the Network by the Complicite Corp’s. Funny how th eAirstrikes on Somali barely made it on even PBS News Hour. I know We are being Censored and silenced on the Web, but I think there is far more than mere Highjacking or our Free Press- I think they have been taken hostage and threatened (with Gitmo, or another ‘secret prison’ or a ‘Freak accident’) I am willing to entertain any of these possilbities considering who & what is running this country.
