I think one of the problems attaining world peace is that people really don’t understand—though they may intuit—the concept of “putting themselves in tune with the universe.
What people understand is poverty, hunger, oppresion, war, genocide, tyranny, greed, etc.
After these are eradicated from humanity—and I’m not holding my breath—then people may be able to understand being “in tune with the universe.”
One of the biggest deterrents to world peace, in my opinion, is that the wrong people are leaders and lawmakers, and that’s just about universal. What that may or may not have to do with coming into tune with the universe, I’m not sure, and I’m a musician. I still have not figured out “the music of the spheres.”

Peace on earth
By C Quil, January 1: “Peace to you too, Mr. Fish, and all the Truthdiggers….. Continual war obviously isn’t working… Let’s try something else…”
The Art of Peace does not rely on weapons or brute force to succeed; instead we put ourselves in tune with the universe, maintain peace in our own realms, nurture life, and prevent death and destruction. The true meaning of the term samurai is one who serves and adheres to the power of love… http://www-cse.ucsd.edu/users/paloma/Aikido/artpeace.html

Peace to you too, Mr. Fish, and all the Truthdiggers.
Continual war obviously isn’t working - unless you’re an arms salesman.
Let’s try something else.

All my life, and that’s a lot of new years, people have been wishing one another “peace and prosperity in the new year.”
Yet this country gets increasingly polarized and alienated, is involved in more and ongoing atrocities, more and more neglects its poor and needy and becomes more violent.
I’m delighted people keep the tradition alive, for if they didn’t, things might get bad.
George W, if you or your spies are reading this, Happy New Year!!

I offer all my colleagues throughout the blogosphere this jewel of a clip honoring some of our lost great ones -while at the same time imparting a somber note to Hillary Clinton. Who, the Des Moines Register has just declared, IS NOW 7 POINTS BEHIND BARACK OBAMA!!
