to quisa: It really doesn’t help when someone uses the word genocide lightly. Iraq is not a genocide, nowhere close; it’s a tragedy of the highest order, it’s a crime against humanity, I’ll grant all that. But a genocide? No.
It’s not necessary for something to be a genocide to be horrible and unacceptable. When did our moral values desert us so much that only the ultimate crime is able to trigger our revulsion?

What is ironic, is that the US Congress is voting on whether there was a genocide in Turkey in the 20th century, at the same time that the US is creating a genocide next door in Iraq. Amazing isn’t it?
