Abu Nurah, just because a group or a person is democratically elected doesn’t make them or him or her good or smart or right. Think of our own president here in the US, think of the leader of Germany at the time of National Socialism. He was elected too.

No, it makes me proud to be an American who supports the self-determination of the Jews, and the preservation of human rights in a region which otherwise is almost totally lacking in it. Except in Israel, of course.

The US has never been an honest peace broker. In fact, our government is largely responsible for maintaining the Israeli occupation of Palestine. The US and EU are doing their best to prop up Abbas’ Fatah collaborators and to isolate the democratically elected Hamas.
