Would that the only difficulty here be a “qualifications” deficit as Mr. Fish observes. More important it seems to me is the lack of sincerity on the part of two of the participants and their last names don’t begin with A. The decided Bush Regime tilt against the Palestinians a year or two ago, its virtual endorsement of the legality of the West Bank settlements, renders a death blow to any hope for peace in this now ancient contretempts. Can we hope that in 2008 a Democratic president might bring back Carter’s Secretary Of State?
