Though I find the satire in the artist’s work entertaining, it could be seen as
offensive.  One thing to say to @glasshouse, though.  Allow me to give you a
“wee little bit of background:” Arabs did not move into an “evacuated area of
land,” what the arabs did was take over the ottoman empire with the assistance
of Britain (in an organized fashion), and in return they were promised
sovereignty.  What happened in the period that you decided to “fast forward”
through was the most crucial part.  The Sykes-Picot agreement? The Balfour
Declaration? The planned division of the previous ottoman empire amongst the
League of Nations as if it were a large pizza covered with un-desirable
pepperoni slices? The misinterpretation of the Hussein-McMahon
correspondence which led to the British Mandate over Palestine, which is when
Britain simply gave away land to European Jewish People, promising them a
homeland in a land that did not belong to them in the first place.  So please,
@glasshouse, before going online and posting serious accusation of things you
don’t even know about, go read some books.  I do not reject the Holocaust, and
I empathize with what happened under Hitler, but that does not stand to justify
the crimes the Israeli Government has committed in the last century.  If you
wish to disagree, please go ahead, but I will have you know that I personally
fled Palestine in 1967 with my two baby brothers and my mother (who had 3
bullet wounds in her shoulder that she got while buying vegetables.)  My dad
was shot down down by Israeli soldiers just before I turned 16, and i’ve been
taking care of my family since.  I have no problem with Israeli people, jewish
people or holocaust survivors, but I urge those people to see the crimes that
their government is committing; they are inexcusable, unjustifiable and simply
criminal.  It is easy to fast forward through years of death and starvation and
war when you are sitting in a comfy chair posting historically inaccurate
statements a thousand miles away from the conflict and years away from
correct information that could be simply acquired by picking up a fuckin book,

I don’t think the stated goal of Israel is to annihilate the Palestinians, at least I haven’t heard an Israeli official call for that action or Israeli protesters in the streets with signs and burning Palestinian flags chanting that the Palestinians be driven into the sea.  There are a million Palestinians that live as Israeli citizens and have legislative representation in the government.  Anyone who is more concerned with what someone else has than their own life is bound to be an angry, bitter, and spiteful person who will need to vent his hate somehow on someone.  So it wasn’t 6 million Jews that were liquidated but 4.8, does that mean it wasn’t a Holocaust?  Maybe including the gypsies, the gays, and undesirables we can round it up to 6 mil.  The Middle East is burning right now, while Obama golfs.

in case you didn’t read the caption, this is about Hezbollah, a terrorist
organisation operating out of Lebanon, and not the Palestinians.

Mos importantly, though, while I don’t condone the killing of innocents (or
anyone for that matter), Israel are at war. They are defending themselves from
attack. They are doing the same thing ANY COUNTRY would do in their
situation. True, that doesn’t make it “right”, but it makes it necessary.

Instead of ignorantly decrying Israel’s actions, I’d be far more impressed if
someone could come up with a better way for a country, ANY COUNTRY, to
react in this situation. Then, if Israel don’t subscribe to it, I’ll walk into
Jerusalem and burn Israeli flag myself.

As for the cartoon itself, I can’t believe how nobody has commented on what a
reversal of the situation it represents. Yes, Israel have done bad things. But they
are not the agressor, and NEVER have they stated a goal of annihilating the
Arab nations. In fact, their stated goal is peaceful co-existence. It’s extremist
groups and psychotic individuals who in fact state that their goal is the
annihilation of Israel and/or the Jews. Maybe the artist should think about that.

The cartoon was to nice… it should have shown little woman and children half-burned. it should have shown old people running for thier livee… it should have been in color so you could see the blood overflowing the land… And finally I don’t know how to portray a man’s soul but there has to be a way to show the evil in thier hearts.
