There was the time a Marine’s only task was to seek out and destroy. Today, Marines are social workers, psychologists, Red Cross workers, teachers, sitters who wait for a sniper bullet. But let’s not dwell on the negative.
Actually the depiction of the new Marine is quite revealing. It is the new generation of war on USA. Where is the next terrorist coming from? It could be your neighbor, co-worker, etc.
Look the issue is, if you don’t like USA get the fuck out.

Its called collateral damage. It veers its head in every war. Get the fuck over it. It sickens me that people can insult soldiers, the ironic part about it is that their the ones that ensure you have every right to. You should be worshiping these people. This picture is bullshit, the way I view it is like this;
You have 3 sides. The first is the armed forces, giving their lives for the freedom of others. Then you have the supporters of the armed forces. Then you have the faggot, sissy, brain washed liberals who do nothing but bitch and moan because they don’t know SHIT about the price of freedom, and take their for granted. Just remember libtards, you didn’t just become free for no reason. People died to make you free. Thank them.

septemeber 11th was a horrible thing, yes of course many people died and i am sorry for that. it truly was an act of terrorism. BUT it does not justify the death of even more people, the death toll is beyodn what 911 was. the US military has always been like this. when has the higher ups ever considered human life other than american valuable? consider: agent orange in vietnam, consider: hiroshima and nagasaki at the end of WWII, consider” the unforgiving carpet bombings in iraq. the american generals, the secretary of defence and the president are all war criminals down to every last one of them. their idea of civility in war applies to all except themselves. but i do agree with you in one part, if you going to have war theres no point in doing it humanely. also, even if the lives are american lives, its still considered 2nd to profit. no my friend. semper fi is “always faithful” or “loyalty to the end”. if that end is your death and it defies everything that you and your country stands for how can you say semper fi? wheres your loyalty then? if its there then where is your sense of justice and humanism? you know what? i am muslim. i dont see the ones who lead these attacks in the middle east as muslim. i dont see the monsters who sit in saudi arabia as muslims, hell they arent even human. these second rate imams and liars that sit in prayer halls tell you to blow yourselves up, thats something introduced in the first gulf war by the americans to fight the soviets. remember the training of the taliban by the CIA. as to balls? come on! marines are trained to die out there. marines dont know anything but to kill and then die, do they know the political situation? do they know what they are fighting for? they say they are fighting for america, a country that has enough hate built up around it to equal germany during the 2nd world war. if you know your history american “diplomacy” and their complete controll of the UN with their veto defy every logical idea of democracy. they do this while keeping civil political literacy down in the whole american culture. no… to all marines: “adequatio intellectus et rei”. and to you: “ab irato”.
by all means find out what they mean, i am not swearing at you or the marines, so go for it.

I wanted to put a few words down about this picture since most of you who are commenting on it have never been there and have no idea what is going on. First of all it is a WAR and people civilians and military die everyday! That is WAR! No matter how careful you are it happens. It has through every war that has been fought. But for people who sit on there ass and have never done anything to protect the rights that they so enjoy, WHY ARE YOU SAYING ANYTHING? You have never been there or know what is like! When the enemy kills civilians by the hundreds and no one says shit about them! Hello who killed thousands in one morning! Oh yeah Sept. 11 for those of you who have forgotten. You wanted the war more then anyone and now you sit here and complain about it! To the ones who say they were againest the war when it began, YOU ARE FULL OF IT!!! If want to say something about the war then at least have the BALLS to be there and then you can say what you want! Until that time do us all a favor and sit there in your nice house and enjoy the freedoms you have, that are givin to you by those people who do have the balls to be there fighting for your rights!!! To all my MARINES SEMPER FI!!!

Ok, it’s not our government, it is not our troops, and if it hadn’t started with Bush it would have happened with the next president. 1998 Ayman al Zawahiri declared a Jihad on the U.S.. That same year they attacked U.S. embassies. Back then Clinton was president, he was the one who had access to this information, why wasn’t anything done about this when it started. I am for this war, since we didn’t go over there earlier to them when they declared war on us they took it to us, 9/11. They will continue to fight us, if we pull out and disregard them they will eventualy take the war to us, in your back yard, at your children’s school.
When the bullets fly, people die. When your are in combat your adrenalin gets flowing, you are scared, when the enemy dresses like civilians it can be really hard to tell who is really the enemy and who is not.
And if a 8th grade boy can understand this, so can you.
I got some of my information from http://www.futurejihad.com

The Marines have an impossible job, this - the murder of innocents people happens EVERY FRIGGIN TIME. It’s a dehumanizing situation of unbelievable stress, the inevitability of this happening is as sure as the sun to rise.
It’s unfortunately that the armchair chickenhawks - the physically fat usls slobs like the Cheney’s the Perle’s to ask others to do the fighting.
I am not sure how Bush - proven draft dodger, can live with himself, unless ofcourse he’s a psychopath.
Ofcoure the Dem’s in the Houses are really little different than their GOP collegues. But hopefully a new Dem Pres can make a small difference against the “media-military-industrial complex.”

Thank you for your service to our country! I am retired State Department, and while I didnt carry a gun in the service of our country, I know what it feels like to live in strange lands, and the feeling one gets when seeing Old Gory flying atop a building (usually the Embassy) when youre far away from home.
Given my background, as you might suspect, I totally understand the sentiment you expressed regarding this cartoon. However, I think the cartoon promotes discussion on a very vital subject of our times. My first post to this cartoon states, clearly, the debate is NOT about the actions of a few Marines, but rather the most impossible situation the civilian government has placed our troops.
This is the REAL discussion that I think the cartoon promotes.
I am a Katrina victim, and as such, had the opportunity to see our military pull thousands of helpless old people and children from buildings and houses in New Orleans. I know what kind of Military we have and the honorable and outstanding job they do when given honorable, albeit difficult, missions. Simply, the men and women wearing the uniform of the U.S. military are the BEST of the BEST Period. I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE!
So, its not about the Marines; its ABOUT the people WE select/allow to SERVE US in the civilian government, and the resulting missions they send our military to complete. I think youll agree with me, Kim, this Iraq invasion (and/or the execution of same) was the worse possible use of our men and women in uniform.
The above said its up to old government guys like us, Kim, to remind people, its not the Troops its THE MISSION which is clearly at fault here. And, cartoon like this one provide the opportunity to get this point across succinctly.

I was against this war even before it began. I am also a retired Navy officer. To display this cartoon however is just plain wrong. It appears that a few Marines committed a horrific act in Haditha. But to state that Marine Corps training includes instruction on how to murder civilians is not only a lie but counterproductive to the anit-war cause. All this does is enflame those (few) who still support Bush’s war. Furthermore it gives ammunition to those on the right who daily attack you. It is wrong and you should remove it now.

They were just teaching the Iraqis a lesson in the heat of battle after one of their buddies was killed.
In every war ever fought things like this happened. Always happens.
War negatively affects both sides. They die, we go insane.

They shot babies in the head. These are the types of people we as anation produce and it is our responsibility to oust these jokers from our political lives.

Right-on picture! We don’t look good at all to the outside world and I don’t blame any of them for being pissed off at America. We are the oppressors.

Mr. Fish, while apparently willing to make cartoons slandering our armed forces, is too cowardly to even use his own name, let alone risk his life for others as the US Marines in Iraq do every day.

Read “Fooled Again” by Mark Crispin Miller. The 2004 election was most definately stolen as well. So WE didn’t elect this president.

Not the marines, not the commander, not the president, not the electorate. Us. You and me. We are the murderers. As surly as we glorify war and those who fight it. As surly as we demand that these young people kill, kill, kill. It is us, the entire population of the United States of America who killed those in Hadifia. In Iraq, in Panama, in Granada, in Afganistan. We are the Klingons. We are the warring people of the earth. We are Germany in 1932. We are Cambodia in 1974. This is what The United States of America is in 2006. It will be written for a thousand years. We are the earth scorchers.

An impossible JOB! A bunch of young-people (the Marines) given guns and put in the midst of house-to-house war, where any and everything is able to BLOW-UP; where it is impossible to separate the good-guys from the bad; and where they sit like ducks waiting to be picked-off by any number of snipers. It’s enough to make the most rational person act irrationally.
I am not making excuses for the Marines… but I am saying the electorate who is responsible for putting the civilian government in place who sent the Marines on this awful mission should take the Majority of the responsibility for what is going-on in Iraq.
The 2000 election was stolen, but the 2004 election saw many of YOU voting for the Bush ‘regime’. We (US citizens) had a chance to send Bush and his boys packing, heading back to Texas - but noooooooooooo.
So, methinks it’s a bit RICH to criticize the Marines while at the same time ignore an electorate who put Bush into office. Bush, after all, bears the ultimate responsibility for placing the Marines, et al, in this, the most impossible of situations.
So how about a cartoon depicting a 2004 Voter pulling the lever for Bush, with the word IDIOT written across his forehead?
How could 52,000,000 people be SO DUMB? The Europeans were RIGHT!
