‘Daily Show’: The Temple of Hume

Gosh, Brit Hume has been hit with some angry e-mails since he proclaimed on national television that Tiger Woods needs saving by one J.C. (whose name, Hume cleverly notes, causes “all hell” to break loose when uttered in such a setting), but Hume doesn’t think his comment was tantamount to proselytizing, no sir. This causes “Daily Show” correspondent Aasif Mandvi to reflect on his own religious background and the extreme tolerance shown for it on that same Murdochian network—as well as in the nation’s airports, and when walking through Staten Island.  —KA
