Brown, Whitman Wrangle Over ‘Whore’ Zinger

It’s perhaps commendable that repeat California gubernatorial hopeful Jerry Brown didn’t try to avoid the subject during Tuesday night’s debate or deny the existence of his aide’s “whore” slur directed at Republican rival Meg Whitman.

Whitman wasn’t having it when it came to any attempt to brush off or downplay the incident. “I think every Californian, and especially women, know exactly what’s going on here,” she shot back. But Brown was ready for her! Here’s the stilted exchange below.  —KA
