Matthews, Hackett Demolish GOP Candidate

This one was so brutal it almost wasn’t fun to watch. Almost. NBC’s Chris Matthews and antiwar veteran Paul Hackett made mincemeat of Texas GOP congressional candidate Van Taylor, whom they repeatedly chastised for using meaningless talking points. Taylor was more out of his depth than George Bush at a Mensa convention.

Crooks and Liars:

Paul Hackett debated the Iraq war with Republican ...  candidate Van Taylor.

Taylor who did fight in the Iraq war–for some reason uses the most original “we’re fighting them over there” argument which is sounding more and more like an Abbott & Costello routine. Just listen to the Ken Mehlman “talking points” Van uses during the discussion that lack any real substance.
