Was Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan as running mate a smart pick? The candidates’ competing visions for the future of Medicare have eclipsed most of their other scenarios recently, and Romney told his inquisitors that he’d paid at least 13 percent in taxes in the past 10 years.

Joining Matt Miller to debate these issues this week on “Left, Right & Center” are former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, sitting in for Robert Scheer, who’s away one more week, and James Glassman, executive director of the George W. Bush Institute at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
