She’s back!

Former half-term Alaska governor/reality television star/famed quitter Sarah Palin’s return to Fox News on Monday presented an enormous amount of temptation for “Daily Show” interim host John Oliver, and it’s easy to see why. The number of ridiculous things she’s said and done in the past—and will likely continue to do in the future—makes Palin ripe for the mocking by comedians like Oliver. But the interim host, who so badly wanted to go after Palin on the Monday night edition of the Comedy Central news program after she made an appearance on the equally easy-to-make-fun-of Fox News morning program “Fox & Friends,” has decided to go another route.

“I just realized something ... fuck it. This is exactly what she wants. Just because I walked into a turd supermarket doesn’t mean I have to buy anything,” Oliver said before introducing a new segment: “Wait a Second, We Can Just Ignore Her.”

“We could spend the whole show juxtaposing video clips to demonstrate how Sarah Palin’s strongly felt convictions are nothing more than self-contradictory nonsense, or we can just ignore her,” he said. “It’ll feel so good. It will be like we give our brains an enema together.”

Of course, ignoring her may not be that easy, Oliver acknowledged. “She’s a temptress,” he explained, adding, “Oh Sarah, if it only was as easy for us to quit you as it is for you to quit everything.”
