Senate Shoots Down DADT RepealPosted on Dec 9, 2010
Bad news for proponents of repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”: Thursday’s vote in the Senate failed to send the repeal through, as the measure was blocked by just three votes. Thanks, there, Sen. John “Maverick” McCain. —KA

Any heterosexual or non-heterosexual man or woman who is actually proud to be a military person should be ashamed of themselves. The primary purpose of someone in the armed forces is to KILL other people who they are ordered to kill. Gays and lesbians who deliberately choose the military way of life need their heads examined.
The non-stop conflicts, mostly promoted and engineered by the military-industrial complex, are BUSINESSES designed to make huge profits for a few using the lives of others as raw material. I’d rather rot in prison than be a willing part of it.

What the hell are they afraid of? Do the repukes think that if more gay people served in the military, they might decide to actually seek better solutions to wars and fighting than war being the answer for all the slights real and imagined in this country?
Heterosexual men, from my own experience are more violent and hostile and ready to fight at the drop of a hat at the most stupid of scenarios. Most the gay men I known from working, are more willing to talk things out and look at all sides of a situation rather than the “nuke em’ all attitude” we see in America today.
America, since it’s creation, has been involved in over 200 wars around the world, not counting in the first wave of invaders who stole this from the indigenous people who already lived here. America somehow feels it is the world police, or that it knows best for everyone else, which in most cases is not correct. For those congress critters who claim, falsely, that they follow the Constitution while running this country-into the ground- fail to read the whole article. Especially the part that talks about that America shall not intrude into the workings and running of other countries/governments and shall not involve itself(America) into the wars of other countries. Threats directly make to this country are the exception, being lied into wars, as the Bush administration did in the first decade of this century are not to be included, nor are the tiffs of other countries that this government claims to be our friends. Face it America, most countries hate us because of the constant interfering that has been done by this country and are not our friends, so get out of their countries and let them shift for themselves. As long as we are doing their responsibilities for them, they will never be willing to learn let alone do what they need to do for their country and at the cost of bankrupting America, which it really has as all the war money was borrowed from other countries to fight other countries disagreements. If the rich and the repukes still want the wars to continue so as they can rake in the war profits, shouldn’t they also be the ones finding them 100%?
If the GOP keeps the gays out of the military, let’s send in their children to get blown up. Oh! That’s right, most of them have gay children like Dicko and John McCain the pain. Can’t go then, so the only reasonable answer is to ends the wars now. Just think of all the other things that money could have been spent on besides destruction and human misery.

The Republicans response to why they don’t want this repealed right now even with most troops in favor of allowing gay troops to serve is that it just isn’t the right time.
Report thisWhen would be the “right time” to do it? We are a country constantly at war and that is not going to change.
This stalling is ridiculous. If troops are in favor of repeal and most of the country is in favor of repeal, the government should do their job and SERVE the people.
