USA Today

In interviews posted Tuesday by The Washington Post, injured veteran Scott Olsen talks about the road to recovery after suffering head trauma Oct. 25.

Things are looking up for two-tour Iraq War veteran Scott Olsen, who was injured Oct. 25 during a police raid on the Occupy Oakland encampment, where he was taking part in demonstrations against the corporatization of the American political system. Although he still shows signs of impairment from head trauma, he is able to tell his own story now, as he does in the two interviews posted below with USA Today and IndyBay.org. Take it away, Scott.  —KA

Five heartfelt comments on Scott Olsen’s condition and one afterthought by gerard.

Chris Hedges’ rants on OWS enjoys hundreds of comments.

Fairly sad and tremendously embarrassing.

He restores my faith in the future of this country.  If there are enough young people like him we have nothing to fear.

He seems like such a nice guy.

Although he is having some difficulty with his speech, I must say, I doubt I could have done as well in front of a camera.

Eminent crackdown by LAPD, notorious for their brutality. Hopefully it won’t be on
display tonight. There are unidentified military type with weapons, there are also
cops on the beat with tear gas guns, rubber bullet guns. People needed to witness

Be sure to watch Democracy now today, Tuesday. Amy gives complete exposure to one of the developers of nonlethal sprays —pepper spray and tear gas—who says use against peaceful protesters is completely beyond reason, dangerous and stupid—a clear corroboration for all of us who oppose this kind of militarized police action, both here and in other countries to suppress dissent.

It’s encouraging to see whistle-blowers coming forward to defend democratic procedures and fairness.

BE WELL, SCOTT!

It’s good to see him doing better but even in this it
is also infuriating to know this happened. It was out
of line and should be FULLY prosecuted.

Take care Scott.
