Russell Brand Uses ‘Trivial’ Sean Hannity Spat to Discuss ‘Worst Conflict on the Planet’ in Gaza

In response to the Fox News host’s attempt to “educate” Russell Brand with a panel that quickly went awry, the comedian posted another episode of “The Trews” on YouTube in which he aimed to provide context and facts about the situation in Gaza, and gave a blistering critique of right-wing pundits’ trivialization of serious world matters.

Brand makes a point of reminding his viewers that American revolutionaries, Mahatma Gandhi and other crucial political figures were once viewed as “terrorists” by the British Empire just as Palestinians are accused of terrorism by the Israeli government and its supporters at Fox News. The “Trews” host also notes Sean Hannity’s attempt to steamroll his colleague Geraldo Rivera when Rivera tried to offer a different view on the events in Gaza.

Of course, Hannity was eager to agree with another Fox News panel member who accused Hollywood actors of drinking “cocktails of stupidity and bigotry,” to which Brand hilariously countered, “Sound delicious. Where did you get yours?”

All in all, it seems Hannity’s attempt to belittle Brand and further spread vitriol and misinformation failed miserably, especially if you take into account the fact that, as the comedian tweeted, the “Trews” episode that started the argument between the two celebrities has had the most views in the series (as of Saturday morning, the YouTube views are nearing 2 million).
